brandybit Posted May 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2011 we are thinking of doing a week's land tour in Costa Rica and were wondering if anyone has been there during October which is supposed to be the rainy season? Rates are so much cheaper then, but wonder if the chance of rain is worth it.
pilotdane Posted May 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2011 Where will you be going in Costa Rica? Will you be staying in one place or touring around? Will you drive yourself or doing a packaged tour? The weather can vary considerably depending on where you will be. Generally October is between seasons in most areas. That said, be prepared for rain. It will not rain all day but the odds are good that you will get some rain almost every day. If you think you will be visiting Costa Rica again I would put the Arenal Volcano on the list for your October trip. October is probably one of the better months to see the volcano. For much of the year the upper parts of the volcano are regularly shrouded in clouds but in October it is clearer up on the mountain and should give you a better chance of seeing an eruption.
