Has anyone done dogsleding in Girdwood

My wife and myself would like to some glacier dogsleding next July .Has anyone done this in Girdwood- Whittier or should we do this in Skagway -Juneau on the cruise home and should I book on my own or book with cruise ship advantages disadvantages Thanks

Girdwood is less canceled then the inside passage. It's up to you how you book.

 

You can have some savings booking direct. IF you can't get to tour pick up areas on your own, or like having the ship arrange your tours, then book with the ship. There is "no" risk in "missing your ship" due to an independent tour however- you are probably going to get posts mentioning this? I have been touring Alaska for many years, and have yet to hear of an independent booked tour being responsible for someone missing their ship, outside of fatal flightseeing, 3 incidents that I can recall.
