Peek-a-boo Posted August 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2011 We board on Friday, however we don't depart until the following afternoon. When will muster will be held? Which night will they hold the Captain's reception? Thanks for the info :)
Travelcat2 Posted August 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2011 Our experience has been that the Captain's reception is held the third night when you overnight at the first port.

Which night will they hold the Captain's reception? Thanks for the info :) Muster will be held on the second day. In fact we missed our muster as we were on an all day excursion that got back 1/2 hour before we sailed. Captain's Dinner will probabl be the third night. Hambagahle Posted August 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2011 On our Med cruise in 2009 the Captains reception didn't happen until the third night. Reason was that we were in Livorno all day, to quite late, on the first night out and peole were on long tours to Florence. Next day we were in Civitavecchia, and ditto on tours to Rome. Finally the reception happened after we left Capri/Sorrento. International law requires life boat drill within 24 hours of sailing. So if you haven't sailed, presumably it isn't yet required!
