travel with kids Posted August 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2011 What does "Main and specialty restaurant seating preferences" mean? I am book in a C2 room and that is one the perks of Concierge Class. Thanks
dkjretired Posted August 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2011 What does "Main and specialty restaurant seating preferences" mean? I am book in a C2 room and that is one the perks of Concierge Class. Thanks I hate to say this but it is sort of a phantom benefit. Don't know of anyone who has ever taken advantage of it. From reading various posts, if you ask on board they don't know about it.
Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted August 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2011 What does "Main and specialty restaurant seating preferences" mean? I am book in a C2 room and that is one the perks of Concierge Class. Thanks Essentially, it means nothing. Marketing hype. Theoretically, you can be placed on the waitlist if you don't get your preferred dining time in the main dining room. But so can everyone else. In practice, all this can be resolved by having a conversation with the maitre d' on board the ship. As far as the specialty restaurants go, people aren't exactly beating their doors down, especially not at $40/person. They'll be happy to take anyone's money. dkjretired Posted August 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2011 I would never book a CC room on any of the Solstice class ships unless I got a real good deal. Most of the CC benefits are either non exsistent (advertising hype) or highly overated. I would book a CC room on the M class ships or Century because the rooms and verandas are bigger which they are not on the Solstice ships.
Rare ghstudio Posted August 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2011 We have two CC cabins reserved on two equinox cruises because we were offered a guarantee concierge cabin at a price that was lower than a 1c veranda cabin.
Jborosara Posted August 10, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2011 My experience last year on the summit was bubkus....even when we asked....very small cramped table in the middle of a very cramped room....but then I don't cruise for the food... travel with kids Posted August 10, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted August 10, 2011 Essentially, it means nothing. Marketing hype. This is what we thought. So, with that being acknowledged, what on the list of CC features are actually a TRUE benefit? • Early embarkation and debarkation • Priority check-in • Welcome sparkling wine, fresh fruit and flowers • Main and specialty restaurant seating preferences • Expanded room service breakfast menu • Evening hors d'oeuvres, daily • Pillow menu, Plush Frette® bathrobes • Hansgrohe® massaging showerhead • Extra handheld hair dryer • Celebrity tote bag • 100% Egyptian cotton oversized bath towels • Complimentary shoeshine service, use of golf umbrella and high quality binoculars • Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors • Sitting area with sofa • 32" LCD TV • Vanity • Veranda with lounge seating Thanks
