You need to activate international dialing on your phone before you leave though. It is free to activate but you will need to program your phone after you add the feature using *228 and choosing option 2. Texting is 50 cents to send and 5 cents to receive. Calls are $2.49 per minute on the ship but vary in port. Data rates are really high especially since you can't add an international data package for a week anymore.
