Stella's Tips Posted August 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2011 Hi everyone, one thing that I've heard while checking in passengers, many passengers felt since they did the pre-registration online they did not have to wait in the lines. What the pre-registration does is put your information on file so that when you do come to the agent's line, all we need to do is confirm your information including passports, birth certificates and credit cards, and once confirmed we can then issue you your sign and sail cards. So yes, unfortunately you do have to wait in the lines, but they do move fast and if you're in my line, I will make sure you receive a great big smile and quick processing. Welcome aboard! :D
firefly333 Posted August 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2011 First time Iv ever heard that people think this, but there are a lot of not so smart people in the world. For one thing, I know with Carnival, you only put in the last 4 digits of your credit card, nothing else.. no way could Carnival charge you based only on this. Of course you have to show the actual card with all the numbers to check in. Only common sense.

QLUVS2CRUZ Posted August 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2011 I can see where someone might think that if they've already entered a lot of information in online, they may not have to wait in line...especially first time cruisers. I wouldn't necessarily say they aren't smart or lack common sense. Not everyone knows what to do 100% of the time.

I remember the first time we wanted to cruise Alaska, via Vancouver. Our TA encourged us to do the HAL pkg deal and what a blessing that was. Holland folks met us at the Vancouver airport, took us to the shuttle, then to our hotel, picked us up the morning of the cruise (our luggage had been picked up from our room the night before), and transported us to the dock, where they escorted us thru the terminal and into the fast lane. Wonderful way to learn the "ropes" for a new cruiser. I love CC so much, because it is a place for first time cruisers to learn a wealth of info, plus those of us who have cruised several times can share what we know, and still learn more. Now....for all my CC friends.......please pray for rain, or do a rain dance for those of us in Texas who are suffering a terrible drought, and are in our 40th day of 100+ temps. gg

When we cruise Alaska via Seattle RT, we only need our passports, right, not birth certificates ???? gg

Stella's Tips Posted August 12, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted August 12, 2011 Well, even though they depart from New York, we have folks from all over the world! There are alot of first time cruisers and they're excited and just not thinking straight, so we make sure we help them out the best way possible.
