Kellit1964 Posted August 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2011 We are sailing on Princess to Alaska for the first time in a few weeks. I have a question regarding dining. Should we elect not to go to the dining room once or twice during our cruise does the buffet offer the same food offered in the dining room that particular night? Thanks! Pam in CA Posted August 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2011 The buffet has some, not all, of the items on the menu in the dining room. Some dishes aren't adaptable to the buffet. They post a menu of the night's entrees at the entrance to the buffet in the afternoon so you can check it against the night's dining room menu posted outside the dining rooms. lovevacadays Posted August 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2011 There will be some of the same food in the buffet as the dining room but not all of it. It's a totally different experience. We typically do eat an evening meal once or twice in the Horizon Buffet. It really doesn't compare to the main dining room but we usually do it for the convenience (perhaps after a long port day where we want to eat quick and easy). If you have a day you don't want to eat in the MDR try the buffet and see what you think. That way you'll know for subsequent nights or future cruises. Enjoy your time on the Sapphire:)
