scubagirrl Posted September 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2011 We want to go over to Atlantis, but dont wanna spend the money for the excursion. What are our options? if we do the water taxi, what should we expect? Water taxi drops you about 2 blocks from the Marina Village and Coral Towers Entrance. If you are not interested in getting a day pass, you will be very limited as to what you can do and see at Atlantis. Non-guests can enjoy the Marina Village (courtyard shopping, pizza, jamba juice, and restaurants such as Johnny Rockets, Bimini road etc). This area is outside of the main buildings at Atlantis.. and seemingly not part of the property. Inside, you will be allowed access to the high end shops such as Gucci and versace as well as the casino. But that's about all. You will NOT have access to the grounds, the aquarium or other parts of the atlantis property without a pass. Aquarium pass is $39pp Beach Pass is $69pp (does not include pools or slides) Day Pass is $120pp (includes, beaches, aqaurium, pools and slides, but does not include paid attractions such as dolphins, sealions, rock wall, spa etc) Atlantis staff is cracking down on allowing guests to wander freely even in the lobbies. You will be directed to the casino area when you enter the building.
poppydawg Posted September 10, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted September 10, 2011 Ok, thanks. I just want to get some pics, dont care about the beach access or waterpark or anything. As far as the water taxis go, I guess theyre legit or do you look for certain ones (like the red tagged vehicles)?

You'll be directed to the next boat taking on passengers. They are controlled by port authority. No 'rogue" boats. As far as taking pictures, you can take photos from the entry points and interior, but you can't get out the exit doors to take photos of the beautiuful gardens, lagoons and grounds. SteelerCruiser Posted September 10, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 10, 2011 The Water Taxi can be a Fun experience in itself......just be prepared to walk up a bit of an incline from where they drop off to get to Atlantis. Also I would reccommend waiting to get on the water taxi until the boat is almost completely full in your opinion and then wait 5 more minutes as they will pack it as full as possible b-4 leaving. This way you won't have to bob up and down and inhale exaust fumes at the same time.

scubagirrl Posted October 9, 2011 #8 Share Posted October 9, 2011 What ours does the taxi run. We are planning on going to the aquarium late in the day Water taxi's run from 9am to 6pm. In the winter months, when it gets dark early, they stop running at dusk (which is about 5pm).
tuliplvr Posted October 10, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 10, 2011 We enjoyed the water taxi over to Atlantis. Our driver pointed out some of the celebrities homes along the water. Enjoy Atlantis. It was so impressive it made us go back for a vacation!
JoAnn&Mike Posted October 12, 2011 #10 Share Posted October 12, 2011 Water taxi's run from 9am to 6pm. In the winter months, when it gets dark early, they stop running at dusk (which is about 5pm). We were just there in Aug/Sep. You cannot go through Atlantis without paying the entrance fee. No more walking through the hotel or the aquarium...only the casino.:(
