MisterMoon Posted August 7, 2012 #26 Share Posted August 7, 2012 Quarterdeck! I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, in Rio Vista (about 7 minutes from Port Everglades)- my parents are still in the area. Quarterdeck (there are several, the most convenient one to Port Everglades is on Cordova Road about 1 1/2 blocks north of of the Embassy Suites). There's also one by the beach, East Las Olas, north side, about 2 blocks west of A1A. It's not fancy, but good burgers, good ribs, and good fish (and really good fritters). robin13 Posted August 8, 2012 #27 Share Posted August 8, 2012 Can someone suggest a restaurant in FLL that overlooks the water or is on a beach? Something pretty casual will be fine.
Chester & Brewster Posted August 8, 2012 #28 Share Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Coconuts was the best meal we ate in Fort Lauderdale It's on the Intracoastal waterway & you can sit out on the deck over looking the water. http://www.coconutsfortlauderdale.com Edited August 8, 2012 by Chester & Brewster
MetathoraX Posted September 14, 2012 #29 Share Posted September 14, 2012 Good Afternoon All! I am looking for some opinions regarding 15th street fisheries and Bimini Boatyard. Are either of these restaraunts "kid" friendly? Ages range from 8-13 so by no means are they little kids, however I wanted to make sure it was a good place to go. Thanks
dreamer976 Posted September 27, 2012 #30 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Will be at the LaQuinta in Hollywood for a full day before our cruise and without a vehicle. Could someone please give me a list of restaurants within walking distance (with a walker) to the hotel? We're not incredibly picky. Thanks in advance
sweetcurves Posted October 9, 2012 #31 Share Posted October 9, 2012 I've bookmarked a bunch of restaurants for my 2 days pre-cruise in Ft Lauderdale. AtMaui Posted November 5, 2012 #32 Share Posted November 5, 2012 After reading several good comments (both here and on Trip Advisor) and looking at the web site, we have decided to eat at Coconuts the night before our cruise. How far is it from Embassy Suites?
meapya Posted November 29, 2012 #33 Share Posted November 29, 2012 @OP - I'll be going to FLL some 3 days before the cruise that leaves on 16Dec next month. I usually go to a city before the real travel begins to explore and to yes, hopefully VDB if my flight is oversold on my flight details. Anyways, what's some good places to hang out, to get the vibe/taste of the locals? I'd prefer NOT goign to the mainstream big box restaurants....but somewhere where it's not $$$$$$$$$$$$ to enjoy a good meal. TIA! :)

How far is it from Embassy Suites? Not too far. You can hop on the Sun Trolley and get off at the Courtyard...It's directly across the street from the hotel. YoHo Pirates Life For Me Posted February 22, 2013 #42 Share Posted February 22, 2013 Carlos and Pepe's on 17th street. It's just down the street from Extended Stay, Holiday Inn Express and some other hotels. They have authentic Latin food. Very good food and go with an empty stomach. :D
