Quarterdeck!

I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, in Rio Vista (about 7 minutes from Port Everglades)- my parents are still in the area.

Quarterdeck (there are several, the most convenient one to Port Everglades is on Cordova Road about 1 1/2 blocks north of of the Embassy Suites). There's also one by the beach, East Las Olas, north side, about 2 blocks west of A1A.

It's not fancy, but good burgers, good ribs, and good fish (and really good fritters).

Good Afternoon All! I am looking for some opinions regarding 15th street fisheries and Bimini Boatyard. Are either of these restaraunts "kid" friendly? Ages range from 8-13 so by no means are they little kids, however I wanted to make sure it was a good place to go.

Thanks

@OP - I'll be going to FLL some 3 days before the cruise that leaves on 16Dec next month. I usually go to a city before the real travel begins to explore and to yes, hopefully VDB if my flight is oversold on my flight details.

Anyways, what's some good places to hang out, to get the vibe/taste of the locals? I'd prefer NOT goign to the mainstream big box restaurants....but somewhere where it's not $$$$$$$$$$$$ to enjoy a good meal.

TIA! :)

After reading several good comments (both here and on Trip Advisor) and looking at the web site, we have decided to eat at Coconuts the night before our cruise. How far is it from Embassy Suites?

Not too far. You can hop on the Sun Trolley and get off at the Courtyard...It's directly across the street from the hotel.

Chinese Retaurant. Rainbow Palace White Table Cloth Restaurant 4 diamond AAA rating. Expensive but Food and service is outstanding. Try to go whenever we leave out of FLL or Miami. Been there once a year for last 5-6 years. They know us by name and remember our favorites Drinks.
