jplewis Posted April 17, 2005 #26 Share Posted April 17, 2005 Thanks, Geema, did you have to use a taxi to return to hotel for your car? If so ,do you remember roughly the cost? I can't tell how far away from port the hotel is? Patsy
Geema Posted April 17, 2005 #27 Share Posted April 17, 2005 We stayed there pre cruise, so I'm guessing the price for the taxi would be $10-$15. There are a lot of taxi's at the port, so you won't have any problem getting one. The charge will be for everyone in the taxi, not per person. Hope this helps! :)
Missybud Posted April 24, 2005 #28 Share Posted April 24, 2005 I second Geema, the LaQuinta Airport is a wonderfull property with a very friendy and accomodating staff. The shuttle service was excellent. If you arrive early, they will lock away your luggage so you can go over to the Oakwood Plaza and eat/shop. Our pre-cruise stay 4/9/05 was perfect. Front desk staff was very friendly. Romm was clean and airy. We were lucky to get this accomodation back in September of last year through Priceline for $41./night. I don't believe it has been available through them of late. We rented a car at the airport, as we were driving to Miami for our cruise, so uncertain about the shuttle. Can say they asked at checkin which ship you were sailing to set you up with the shuttle service though. A~:)
joeyanddavid Posted April 24, 2005 #30 Share Posted April 24, 2005 Best Western Marina... complementry shuttle from airport, and to cruise port. Its close to the FLL water taxis service... $90 retail but can be found cheaper with an effort so considering the savings in car rentals or taxis via the free shuttle I consider the room rate adjusted to be in the 50 dollar range. (plus i get bonus miles when i stay there :)) the best joey
jplewis Posted April 24, 2005 #31 Share Posted April 24, 2005 Thanks all, we are driving so one of the main reasons we are staying at LaQuinta is you can leave your car while on cruise. Some of the others have this if you are staying when you return. Glad to hear ya'll were happy with the hotel. Patsy
