Suesan Jean Posted March 30, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2005 :) Hello Debbie. You sure do love cruising on the Dawn!!! My first cruise on her will be on April 17th, with my DH and DD. I am SO PSYCHED!!! PLEASE tell me ALL the reasons/things that you LOVE about the Dawn. I do hope we will become "Dawn Groupies...." I know that Colin will be on vacation the entire month of April, but I am not sure when he gets back. "Shoreguy" probably knows. Also, please tell me about the Voyager. Did you have a great cruise? Do you reccomend her? We have another cruise on the Dawn next February, then I was thinking maybe we will try the Voyager. My DH wants to climb the rock wall and my DD wants to see the ice show. I am just not sure how they would like dining at specific times and more dressy. But, the ship does sound and look very nice. What do you think? Thanks Debbie. JuniorCruiser Posted March 30, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted March 30, 2005 Hello Suesan.... Wow... What we like about the Dawn. We love Freestyle first off. We like the fact we could dine whenever or wherever we choose. The ship is absolutley georgeous. It is the cleanest ship we have been on. The staff... Well what can we say they are the best. We got to know a lot of people on the ship and they never forget us. They make us feel like family everytime we board. The shows, entertainment, food, cabins are all great. The two restaurants we enjoy the most are Aqua and Venetian. We don't fly so it's a big plus she sails out of N.Y. The crew is always trying to help you anyway they can. They work such long hours and always have smiles on there faces. Always asking if there is anything else they can do for you. That's what keeps us coming back. We try and show them that we appreciate them NOT take advantage of them. I can't wait to be back on the ship :D About the Voyager.... She is huge. We couldn't believe it when we pulled up to her. The cabins are about the same i would say. I do think they have more storage in the bathroom though. The shower is circular and is not a bad size. We only ate in the dining room once for lunch but if memory serves me correct it was excellent. The shows were awesome. While on the ship we got to see Herb Reed and the Platters. After the show he singed autograph's. The thing we really enjoyed about the ship was that you can order what they serve in the dining rooms for room service. They also have hot breakfasts which was another plus. This cruise coming up we have aft balconies for the first time so i'm sure were in for a treat. They have a mall which we thought was cool too. The casino is cool too if you do that. I guess that's about it. If you have any other questions i'll try and answer them for you. ~~Debbie~~
Suesan Jean Posted March 31, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2005 :) So, would you highly reccomend giving the Voyager a try? Do you have to get "dressed up" every night for dinner? I don't know if my DH would be to crazy about that.... He is an "ultra casual" kind of guy.... On the Voyager are there a lot of organized activities? I really shouldn't even be thinking about the Voyager yet, I have TWO cruises on the Dawn to look forward too!!..... But, I just KNOW we will LOVE cruising and I LOVE planning them!!! Thank you for answering my questions. I am sure I will have more. TTFN Suesan:):):)
JuniorCruiser Posted March 31, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted March 31, 2005 Suesan.... I wish i could answer your question about having to get dressed up for dinner but we never did dinner. We only had lunch 1 day in the dining room. I don't think you have to get all dressed up in a suit and tie. As long as your not in shorts or a t-shirt you should be fine. Yes they do have a lot of things to do. It all depends on what you would like to do. Trust me you won't be bored. To answer you question YES i do recomend the Voyager. I hope i answered your q's for you. ~~Debbie~~
Suesan Jean Posted April 1, 2005 #7 Share Posted April 1, 2005 Thank you for answering my questions. So, to sum it up, we will probably enjoy the Voyager as much as we WILL the Dawn, they will BOTH offer a GREAT experiences........ That is good to know. I do like to try new things, but, we do like the "tried and true" way also.... TTFN Suesan:):):)
