Sunset Celebration still exist?

Years and years ago we visited Key West and they did sunset celebrations with individuals that performed for tips -- it was a fun, circus type atmosphere. It seems like it was at Mallory Square, but it's been too long and too many other places crowding into my memory to be sure.

 

My question: is the sunset celebration still done and where?

What you remember does still exists today. It happens every night and the majority of it is at Mallory Square. They built a walk bridge that goes behind the Aquarium over to the Westin dock. One or two acts set up in that area also.

Where does the cruise ship dock? Wondering if it is an easy walk once the sun has set and it's time to head back to the ship.

It depends on what ship you are on and on what date you are visiting. Here is a link to the calender:

If you are on Pier A (unlikely) or B, you are right there in the middle of it. Pier A is Mallory and Pier B is the Westin. They are connected by the foot bridge I mentioned earlier. If you are on the Mole Pier, you need to take a shuttle from downtown.

Yes, that is the Mole Pier. You will be shuttled to and from the ship from downtown. However, sunset will be at 5:38 that day. You are scheduled to be in port until 8:00. You will have more than enough time. In fact, when it comes time to go back to your ship, the celebration will be long over.

I was thinking sunset would be about 5:30, so I agree we will have plenty of time.

Yes you will have to take the shuttle from the

mole pier but you will have plenty of time.
