Bread Pudding

Bread Pudding is always available on every ship on the Lido...I like to add a scoop of ice cream on top.:) The recipe is also offered. On our Amsterdam Alaska Cruise last month in was even on the menu as a dessert choice in the MDR. Enjoy!

I don't recall seeing bread pudding on the menu on our recent cruise of the Amsterdam. Maybe I was just asleep at the menu.

It's at the dessert bar in the lido.... a decadent mid-afternoon treat for us.;)

I LOVE the bread pudding! It may sound crazy but that is the one food item that I look forward to on each HAL cruise. I have a pretty large bowl every day of my cruise. I guess that's why I tend to gain about 5 lbs. but it's worth it. I can lose it in a week when I get back home!!

When we cruised on the Oasis of the Seas, they had a "form" of bread pudding one day in the Windjammer for lunch and it wasn't very good.

I am from the south and take my word, HAL's bread pudding is only second to my grandmother's. But it is even BETTER when you put a big scoop of Cinnamon Ice Cream on top of it. You get a double dose of the flavor and it is almost heaven.

Previous Cruises:

Alaska - Westerdam - September 2009

Alaska- Rotterdam - September 2010

Mexican Riveria - Oosterdam - April 2011

Future Cruises – in planning stage:

September, 2012 - Alaska – Amsterdam - 14 day cruise

2013 Eastern Med - 28 day (includes cruising Black Sea)

On a recent Eurodam cruise, they did have bread pudding in the Lido. However, I almost missed it because it was not located near the other desserts. Instead, it was by itself on the other side of the sushi station. Glad I found it - it was good. I'm surprised at how many places (not HAL) make bad bread pudding. When prepared correctly, this is one of my favorite desserts.

Yes -- it is on all ships -- you can have my portion.

I really don't care for it.

The only one I really like is the chocolate bread pudding that is offered several days at lunch only on the Amsterdam.

Hope I'm understanding you correctly, but the chocolate version was also offerred on my recent Volendam sailing, as well as on Volendam last year, and Statendam the year before. It really is a nice 'upgrade' from the regular version, but very rich. It's a ritual for me to have a little every day.....thanks to all the positive recommendations from the folks here:)

Gotta try that in a few weeks on the Statendam.

Thanks

Yes, I too love Bread Pudding - aways have it for desert or afrternoon snack in the Lido.

I just wish they would used warm Eagle Brand milk as a topping.

See you at the bread pudding station on the 28th!

Nancy
