Rare Essiesmom Posted October 7, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2011 Best to ask this on the Royal Caribbean board, under Cruise Lines P-Z. EM
Langley Cruisers Posted October 7, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2011 It's fine. You will see others dressed as you have described.

griffy116 Posted October 7, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2011 I'm really surprised to see that on the Med cruises people are saying it's less formal. We're planning our first cruise to the Med and were worried we needed to dress more formally on a Med cruise than caribbean. What's the norm (most prevalent) you see on casual and formal night on Med cruise? We will be on Navigator.
cb at sea Posted October 7, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 7, 2011 You won't be "overdressed" but you will be fine.
eh2zed Posted October 7, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 7, 2011 I think you will find Med cruises a bit less formal. Has to do I think with most Med cruises being so port intensive with fewer sea days on average and rising air line luggage charges.
LarryL Posted October 7, 2011 #8 Share Posted October 7, 2011 Not exactly sure why they bother even calling it "Formal" night. About 50% (numbers are shrinking) actually show up in formal attire and the rest is come as you are or redefine to your own view of what formal is. Might as well be on NCL. Happy ks Posted October 9, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 9, 2011 We've only cruised the Med once a couple years ago, but we found it a bit more formal than other cruises. The men in our party rented tuxes onboard to save packing space and it seemed many others did the same.
