Sol y Mar Posted October 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2011 I think we will be in Key West for Stone Crab season (we will be there the 1st of Dec) and I was wondering where is the best place to get them. :) Thanks for your suggestions! bhopal21 Posted October 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2011 Stone crab season runs from October 15 to May 15 and since I assume you will be there without transportation the best place to find them will be Half Shell Raw Bar at the bight. A while back somebody suggested the market, I think that's what we've decided to do. Thanks! Sol y Mar
Aquahound Posted October 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 17, 2011 A while back somebody suggested the market, I think that's what we've decided to do. Thanks! Sounds like a whole lot of hassle. By the time you organize all that and pay for the taxi, you'll have spent more than at a local seafood restaurant. Then, what do you do with the hammer or crab crackers you had to buy? Don't you want them steamed? Oh, and hope you have bail money for having open containers in the park, which is illegal. Ok, never mind all that garbage. This is Key West. Go to B.O.'s Fish Wagon at 801 Caroline St. They have fresh Stone Crab claws and some of the best Conch Fritters on the island. It's a very easy walk, and if you want to have a brew, it won't be illegal.
