txladycruiser Posted October 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2011 We are thinking of booking the 23 day crossing from Fort Lauderdale to Venice, Italy. We have cruised on Regent Seven Seas quite a bit. The longest consecutive sea days that we've experienced on Regent was four. This itinerary has 9 consecutive sea days. What kind of activities are scheduled on this many sea days? Are there any group exercise classes, trivia, bingo, tea time, etc? I know many people enjoy the transatlantic cruises because of all the sea days and, of course, the lower cost of the cruise. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Martita B. Posted October 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2011 Many enjoy the Transatlantic Crossing's and book just for the wonderful days at sea ~ yes, there are activites: Trivia, a gym for those that enjoy exercising, fitness classes, usually 3 or 4 enrichment lecturers, golf putting, bridge, popcorn & movies, teatime at 4 'o'clock, a casino, all kinds of board games, shows in the evening (low profile type) Crew tug-of-war, the Spa's are wonderful ~a Galley Market luncheon that is not-to-be missed! No bingo, however ~ The days and evenings are full of fun activities ~the evenings are especially delightful ~cocktails in the Club, dinner following in the lovely dining room~ hosted tables by Senior Officers, entertainment team and guest lecturers, etc. I choose TA Crossing's as I loveeee the lazy, magical sea days! And wonderful friends ~both guests and crew~ that I so enjoy being with ~also meeting new Sailing Mates. Martita B
seniorladycruiser Posted October 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2011 We have booked this 23 day cruise as well and this will be our first time on Seabourn. We love Transatlantics and usually sail in the spring. We have also been at sea for 9 days and never got bored. The Spirit will be the smallest ship we have been on but we are so looking forward to it. We did a TA this spring on Regent's Mariner which at that time was the smallest ship we have sailed. It was fabulous, excellent food and service but what made it so wonderful for us was the people we met and became friends with. With the Spirit being even smaller we consider that to be a big advantage and much more intimate. We are avid readers and really don't participate in too many activities on board but always enjoy the lectures. Hope some of this helps in making your decision. Martita B. Posted October 17, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2011 Nan Welcome to the Seabourn family ~if you would like a 'Guest Referral' I have one and would gladly share with you. Would you happen to have an e-mail address for me to contact you? As I am also booked for the March Spirit Crossing we both can enjoy the $400 onboard credit. Evidently this Spirit TA became quite popular the last few months as most suites are already booked ~ Let me know if you would like the 'referral' ~I'll set it up for us. Martita B. ps: there is a roll call for this Transatlantic sailing ~you may want to add your name to it

Martita B. Posted October 19, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2011 Nan I will e-mail you as to your address, etc. Then I'll send the 'referral' to Kristin (Club Desk) in Seattle. She will place the $400 on board credits in our sailing files when we both make final payments. Do sign on the roll call. You will love the Spirit ~'she's' a special 'lit white castle!
