Ashland Posted October 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2011 We have had #9638 on 2 different cruises..no hallway noises at all..nice not to have a cabin directly across the hall from you..However on our last cruise (western med) we did hear some piano playing coming from the Royal Suite below us..Luckily it wasn't at night... hancogran Posted October 16, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2011 We had one on Voyager this past January and absolutely loved it. Didn't notice any noise and it was so convenient and close to the elevator. We booked another hump for our Serenade cruise this coming January. I don't think you'll be sorry if you book one! :D

jabo73 Posted March 26, 2012 #18 Share Posted March 26, 2012 No problem, there will be a full report together with photos as I did last year for our aft cabin (9706). We also booked a hump on our upcoming LOS cruise. We previously had cabin 1700, which unfortunately wasn't available this time around. We booked 9340 but were torn between 9340 or 9706 aft. Did you prefer the hump over 9706? Would love to hear from someone who's experienced both. Thanks! __________________

Thanks! __________________ Personally we did prefer the hump over aft 9706. The reason is that on Liberty last year for some strange reason, even though there is plenty of space on the aft balcony, Liberty management would not allow loungers to be added to the standard 2 chairs and very small table. IMHO that negates the point of having such a large balcony. There was a slight soot problem together with dripping water from the cleaning above. Rare BillOh Posted March 26, 2012 #21 Share Posted March 26, 2012 Has anyone had one and is the traffic/noise bad? We have had such a cabin once on Freedom and twice on Voyager class ships and loved it each time. We do however, like to keep one deck of isolation between us and the pool deck though, so I think that is deck 9 on the Freedom class and deck 8 on the Voyager class. maxxedout2 Posted March 26, 2012 #22 Share Posted March 26, 2012 Has anyone had one and is the traffic/noise bad? One more thing (in addition to the convenient location) is that we prefer port side center hump because the port side aft elevators are the only ones that go all the way to deck 14....the Crown lounge. Not a deal breaker by any means but since we book a year ahead (and usually have the choice) we prefer booking a port side hump balcony. One more useful, useless (depending) tip is that sailing out of Port Everglades it is the port side of the ship that is viewed on the Port Everglades Web Cam. Also, there's the '2 minute traditional/good luck Bon Voyage horn symphony and banner waving' going on between the ship and the high-rise condo owners along the inlet near the Web Cam....which, by the way, if you don't want to go up to the crowded top deck railing, you can enjoy from your balcony. Lately, if you display a large colorful banner, the Web Cam will scan and zoom in on you for a few seconds and all your relatives (on their computers back home) can get screenshots of your group. Maxx, out.

We spoke with you at the meet and mingle and you were full of great advice when we talked at the Promenade Cafe (Steelers fans). We did do the Lamanai tour and loved it. Jamie wasn't thrilled with the thought of going but you had such great things to say and changed his mind. Thanks! Maybe we'll see you again sometime! So nice to hear from you and that you enjoyed the tour. I thought that the Lamanai tour reminded me of the 'Indiana Jones' movies more than most others...loved that high speed boat ride back...still wonder how the Capt. knew his way out of there with all those side creeks? It was fun chatting then, we had a nice CC meet and will remember it always. You never know...hopefully we will sail again. Regards, Bob
