Back from Connie....

As I am just back from a wonderful cruise on Board Connie I want to share some objections I made during the cruise. First of all, sadly I missed the first inofficial meeting of our Roll Call. We just had some baggage issues to handle - so we could not make it. There were no inviaton for the offical meeting- maybe that also no longer is common with X.

First the refit of last years was great succes for Connie- in my humble opinion.

Some was new, some was different, some is sadly never existing.

New and Different - of course Connie itself- the Parade around the Pool with the staff- nice!

Extremly promotion for Tuscany Grill and Ocean Liners- could live without it

Almost pushi to sell their Spar Treatments- totaly overpriced- feels like big summer or winter sale. Not to bothering but still...

Premmium Non Alc package- will do that again, well worth it and a good bargain.

The Participation of the Senior Officiers in passenger games- Casino- Pool. Nice touch and fun to watch- but I dout that they appreicate that new installment!

No longer exists - Brunchbuffet- well that was maybe of the extrem Port intensive Itinerary. No longer Auld lang Syne at the last evening- that part I do really miss- was always a nice ending.

I almost forgot to mention the choclates on the pillow are now much better covered ( prevents misshaps during the night if one forgets them to set aside) and are still there, which I hope will stay that way.

All in all a wonderful crusie - and as for the Connie... those who know her will like the changes.

WB back Texed, hope your are doing just fine.

Sue- yeah really liked Connie in her new finnery. LOL.

Captain made an announcement at his midday report from the bridge at our last and final sea day that X won the Conde Nast Traveler Competition. Very well deserved in my opinion.

He past this information along with a brief history of Celebrity Cruises, the founding etc. , he even explaned the meaning of -X- at the funnels of all - X- ships.

By the way Tex- I bet you know the Waffles were great- as usual.

Greetings

Michael

Not that we're counting but we'll be on the Connie in 6 weeks. Have asked several questions about the redo but have had a hard time getting good answers to:

Do the new flat screens have the music channels? I like to listen while I get ready in the evening while DH is on the balconay chatting with our friends next door.

How are the beds? Hope they are still new and comfy.

We can hardly wait!

We were on the Sept 19 sailing. It as a wonderful cruise. Everything was perfect.

We never bother with who is who on the ship but this time was different. Not sure who the Cruise Director was but every time he made a public appearance DW was afraid that he was going to come down and try and sell us a used car or a timeshare. That is what he reminded us of, and not a good one either. It became amusing after a time, and then a PITA.

Connie is a great ship. We enjoyed it very much & have booked it again next year. The flat screens have the music channels. The beds were fine, & made with duvet covers.

I totaly forgot who the CD was- Perry was on board- and in great spirits as always. Of course after several evenings his jokes get a bit repeatative- but it is hard to expect every evening something new. Michaels Club was overcrowded as usual when he is preforming.

Beds- very comfortable. Flats have music chanals.

BYTW I am the only one who like Auld lang syne at the end??

Hi Michael,

I agree, the song made such a nice ending to dinner. Maybe we are just very sentimental. :)

We were on the same cruise as Michael and agree that the Connie is in great shape. Be sure to try the "Bistro on 5" for crepes, soups, salads, and sandwiches. It was well worth the $5/pp charge to avoid the crowds in the buffet line and the not-mass-produced food was delicious. The Cruise Director's name was Keith Cox and he did come off as a bit too "slick" for our taste.
