bluewhite Posted November 21, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2011 Is it easy to cash travelers on the Sillouette. They will be American Express.
Gonzo70 Posted November 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2011 Yes, very easy. They will do this for no charge at the Guest Relations desk.
Gracie115 Posted November 21, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2011 They'll cash Euro Traveler checks too. We had some of both for our last cruise and they happily did both at no charge.

Rare Hlitner Posted November 22, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Cruise ships are one of the few remaining places where it is easy to cash TCs. Most of the world now views TCs as an obsolete object from the last century and many merchants and even banks will no longer cash TCs. It is a real problem in Europe where, if you can find somebody to cash them you might pay a premium. In the past few years we have noticed more and more European banks with signs in their window saying they do not exhange currency of cash TCs. On all of our longer trips (usually at least 2 months) we rely on ATMs and Credit Cards (CapitalOne cards have no foreign exchange fees). TMLAalum Posted November 23, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2011 I forget if there's a maximum am't of Traveler's Checks you can cash per diem. We like the security they afford when we need to pay our private tour guides in US dollars , e.g. in St. Petersburg and upcoming in Costa Rica & Panama. Don't think there's a maximum as long as they have the $$ available. We had to take some smaller bills as they had run out of $20's, $50's and $100's once but that was not a problem. Same with Euro TC's.
