jsarratt Posted November 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Hello, Getting ready to book one of them. Can anyone give me information as to which one they liked best and why? Thank You, Jeff
Warm Breezes Posted November 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Loved our 8 day Eastern. Freedom was my favorite Carnival Cruise and the longest we have taken. If I had to choose between a 6 and 8 day and had the time to either, I would take the 8 day in an instant. Have fun.
bdstrom Posted November 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2011 8 days! Freedom was our first cruise and we got hooked afterward. We did 5 days on the Inspiration and that was wayyyyy too short. So I'd recommend 8 days in a heartbeat.
Irishlinny Posted November 22, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2011 We just did the Freedom 8 day and loved the ports (Tortola, St Thomas and Antigua...Nassau, we've been there done that). Not sure what itin's you're looking at because I think they are changing next year. And 8 days is always better than 6 in my book!;)
JdoggCruiser Posted November 22, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Both! If you are able:)
blue_water Posted November 22, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2011 April will be our first cruise on the Freedom (Nassau, La Romana, Curacao, & Aruba) and we're looking forward to it from all the reviews. We did an 8-night on the Liberty and liked that, all others have been 7-nighters and anything less would be too short for us. This southern itinerary has primarily beaches as the theme and it would not be my first choice but we haven't been to La Romana and Curacao so that's good. But choose the itinerary, as that's also important depending on what you like to do.
Blondie008 Posted November 22, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2011 I'm doing both :D An 8 followed by a 6 WOOHOOOOOOO :D:D:D
nwcruiselover Posted November 22, 2011 #8 Share Posted November 22, 2011 I agree with those who say both! But if I had to choose between 6 and 8 days, I'd always choose 8. Anything less than 7 days feels really short, and 8 days is a nice amount of time to be cruising. Nancy

fototaker Posted November 22, 2011 #10 Share Posted November 22, 2011 I have to say that my favorite cruise so far was the freedom 8 day eastern! we sailed nov 2010, and i would do it again in a heartbeat! WiLuvCruizn Posted November 23, 2011 #12 Share Posted November 23, 2011 It all depends on if it's your first time cruise, if it is i would do 6, it's plenty of time. If you have cruised before and love it, I would do 8! I've never done 8 though, it seems like a really long time for me personally. But we went on the Freedom last year and really enjoyed it, it's a nice ship and we like Carnival because of their food and staff. Whichever you decide, have fun, i hope you enjoy! If you need any help with ports/transportation etc let me know and i will tell you what i know:)

SMSACE6 Posted November 23, 2011 #15 Share Posted November 23, 2011 I would choose an 8 day cruise over a 6 day one anytime, regardless of ports or call. I love both eastern and western itineraries, and probably prefer eastern by a slight edge, but as I say regardless of ports of call, and whether Ive been to them before or not, I would always choose the longer cruise. I have never done less than 7day cruise, and I know how quickly those come to an end, so 8 day is my recommendation.:)

Let'sDoThisCruiseThing Posted November 29, 2011 #17 Share Posted November 29, 2011 8 Day for sure!!! If you booked the 6 Day, you would wish that you got the 8 Day once you were on board. Listen to your inner voice...it's telling you 8 Day :D
mrpayroll Posted November 29, 2011 #18 Share Posted November 29, 2011 We LOVE the 8 day cruises......
pcrum Posted November 29, 2011 #19 Share Posted November 29, 2011 We did the 6 night Freedom and loved it (see review with tons of photos in signature). We have also taken an 8 night cruise on the Miracle and loved that one as well. If you have the time and money, I'd go for the 8 day cruise. Sometimes we are limited by work and school schedules! halos Posted November 29, 2011 #20 Share Posted November 29, 2011 LOL...that's a silly question to ask a bunch of cruise addicts. 8 days..it's a no-brainer :D (I sailed with Irishlinny on the Freedom 11/5 sailing and she is right, it is a fabulous itinerary!!) msolberg Posted November 29, 2011 #21 Share Posted November 29, 2011 The one big difference we noticed on the 8 day cruises is the average age of the passenger goes way up. Diane
cruiserami Posted November 29, 2011 #22 Share Posted November 29, 2011 I'm getting ready to do a six day on the Valor and I know It'll be too short for me! I've done eight day and loved it. The reason we're doing six day is that we'll go to Sarasota to see in laws following cruise for cristmas eve, christmas day. Then we'll be forced to go home, kicking and screaming. PrettyHazardous Posted November 30, 2011 #23 Share Posted November 30, 2011 We took the 8 day for our wedding cruise (got married in St Thomas) and loved it. Too me the longer the better. I started with a five day then 7 then 8 and I have 2 sevens planned for 2012. I cant do less that 7 now :-).
halos Posted November 30, 2011 #24 Share Posted November 30, 2011 The one big difference we noticed on the 8 day cruises is the average age of the passenger goes way up. Diane LOL...seriously??? between a 6 and an 8 day???
blue_water Posted November 30, 2011 #25 Share Posted November 30, 2011 There is no difference between the age groups for similar itineraries. The 6-night goes by very quickly if you're accustomed to the 7-night, 8 is not that different from the 7. But we enjoy the extra day with the 8-night because it's usually a sea day that you miss on the 7-night.
