Beach Day - Montego Bay

We will be in Montego Bay in early February on the Conquest. Any suggestions for a beach day outing that will feel safe and not cause us to have to run a gauntlet of local vendors?

 

Also, does Courtney Taylor do tours out of MB? If not any suggestions for an alternate guide .. should a beach day prove not to be a good idea.

I am also interested in any info on simple beach day here. Our cruise in March just changed to Montego Bay.

Personally, I think the best beach in Mobay is Doctors Cave beach. Its on the strip with everything else so there is a lot of shopping to be had before/after as well.

 

Entrance is 5$, umbrellas 5 and beach chairs 5.

 

Cant go wrong with doctors cave in my opinion.

Like a 10 mins taxi ride. I hear there is a bus that runs from inside the port to the strip as well which you can take instead and save some money.

We are sailing January 15, 2012 and MoBay will be our last stop. We plan on spending the day at Doctor's Cave Beach and have lunch at Pork Pit.
