hillbilly cruiser Posted December 16, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 16, 2011 I am going Monday (turned 57 last Wed.) Taking my Granddaughter to make me look better. We are booked for the Dream in Sept.
trvlqueen Posted December 16, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2011 We just booked my mother-in-law on the Dream (with us) as a Christmas gift - we told/asked her yesterday ... she is so excited she wants to take all the kids to the movie to "check out the ship". Fine by me - I'd love to SEE the movie - I just don't want to listen to it, lol.:p
isaiahsnana Posted December 16, 2011 #6 Share Posted December 16, 2011 I'm 65 and have to admit to seeing all the Chipmunk movies, love them all! Do have two young grandsons to drag to this one, contemplating a trip to the mall first to make "build a chipmunk" at Build a Bear. Booked on the Magic a year from now and love all things "cruisin'":)

island visitor Posted December 17, 2011 #10 Share Posted December 17, 2011 I am going to see it tomorrow. We were on the Dream in January when they filmed the movie and was also extra's. I am very anxious to see it.
Gingee Posted December 17, 2011 Author #11 Share Posted December 17, 2011 Well we went to see it tonight. It was cute and they were ship wrecked not because of Carnival so nothing bad on Carnival. If you see it, check out their room. I think they traveled very well. I would say maybe the first half hour was based on the cruise ship.
SheriNtexas Posted December 17, 2011 #12 Share Posted December 17, 2011 My 7 year old grandson went on a cruise with me when he was almost 4, so HE is the one that told me we were going to see the movie!:D

I don't even care the the Chipmunks that well and I don't even have little kids. IMHO, you are totally crazy to be going to the Chipmunk movie period. Have you read any reviews of the thing? This is the review from the Tomatometer WEB site - "Lazy, rote, and grating, Chipwrecked is lowest-common-denominator family entertainment that's strictly for the very, very, very young at heart." DON Lol. What do those critics expect of a Chipmiunks movie...Shakespeare? Reviews like that crack me up. My expectation is too see some cute animated chipmunks with a cheesy storyline and a family friendly plot while I listen to my kid's giggle. Sparkvark Posted December 17, 2011 #16 Share Posted December 17, 2011 OK, so if judging by the averages here at CC, let us safely assume that the chipmunks are the over-all bitchy type, have removed auto-tip from their S&S, and claim to have big connections wth some mysterious "brand ambassador" or the casino manager, or some other such nonsense. This is all well and good, but a new question needs to be addressed: Just where do chipmunks store their nuts on a cruise ship?

As posted above though, this really is getting bad reviews, even compared with other Chipmunks movies.

Colorado Kat Posted December 17, 2011 #21 Share Posted December 17, 2011 We were on the Dream last year, the week before they filmed the movie. Would have loved to be there and be extras in the background! Yes, we will attend!

Sparkvark Posted December 17, 2011 #23 Share Posted December 17, 2011 As posted above though, this really is getting bad reviews, even compared with other Chipmunks movies. Right you are, bro. It's getting hammered to pieces over at Rotten Tomatoes with an 11% over all rating. Those writers deserve a good keel hauling at the bare minimum. The only thing that might save that whole crapfest would be this: And BTW, Carnival Dream, please take all of those bitchpickles that complain to no end on this board down to Mr. Jones' Locker as well, where they all deservedly belong. I have spoken.
Gingee Posted December 17, 2011 Author #24 Share Posted December 17, 2011 I thought it was cute and so did the people with me (mainly the females). The two husbands were kind of bored. Hey, I can be young at heart. Usually reviews give you a idea of what people think of the movie. Doesn't mean other people might not like it. bbishop1983 Posted December 17, 2011 #25 Share Posted December 17, 2011 Based on the bad critic reviews it makes me wanna see it more lol. To me the movies the critics dislike the most are the best.
