Pg offered excursions

I did the Lagoon cruise and motu picnic with PG and later on did a similar one with Marc at Huahine Nautique. Marc was 100 times better.

The best PG excursions in Moorea are

Safari

Trail of the ancients

Aquarium snorkelling in Rangiroa/snorkelling the pass if you are an experienced snorkeller.

Remember your OBC is good in the shop as well.

In the past they only had the expensive Tahia Collins Jewellery - gorgeous but pricey.

Now they also have a mixture of cheaper jewellery which would make a nice memento of the trip.

Keep a few $ for the raffle of the navigational chart - the money goes towards the crew fund.

I can only comment on Moorea as I haven't been on the longer intineraries. All the PG excursions were good. The catajets were a problem for me because I got a bum piece of equipment and the guide gave me a hard time for not keeping up, so that one left a sour taste in my mouth.

The hike to the three coconut, it is supposed to be singular, was a real adventure so stay away if you don't want a trek.

The trail of the ancients is one of a kind so if history and anthropology are of interest you really should do that.

We did the catamaran snorkel trip in Moorea last week and enjoyed it (at least during the time it wasn't raining). You visit an area where an artist has sunk seven sculptures of the gods, in addition to a coral garden. Getting into and out of the water on the catamaran is a lot easier than going up and down the side of a boat. The captain and his assistant were very nice people and the boat is quite comfortable, especially since it has heads. It was $159 pp.

The sculptures are just outside of Opunohu Bay. You will need a boat to get out there since it is quite a way from the shore and you don't want to get hit by a passing boat. Can't tell you exactly where it is, but you will probably see a couple of boats anchored out there. We tried to find all seven, but don't know how many we counted twice.

Renting boats in FP are not cheap. A few years ago when the BB Nui was new someone on board our ship rented a boat for the morning for $600 to go and have breakfast at the Nui and to view the facilities and rooms they had!
