george2000 Posted January 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2012 The pool deck on the jewel looks pretty small. How early do you need to be on the deck to get a lounger by the pool? On other cruise lines we usually get on the deck by 9:30. Is that early enough on the Jewel? We don't save chairs, we're just sun/pool junkies who like to spend all day by the pool. cruisegirl1 Posted January 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2012 We sailed the Jewel in December and unless you need to be right by the pool, or need many chairs together, there are ample chairs. We had NO problem getting 2 chairs together on the deck above the pool deck. This is our preferred location ( if not in the Solarium) as you can hear the pool band, but had a magnificent view of the ocean. enjoy M
pam_1024 Posted January 5, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2012 I agree. we were there over thanksgiving and had no problem finding seats anytime we went. If, for some reason, you must have seats right beside the pool, you might want to get there early, but even on sea days, we never had a problem finding seats. kruzerci Posted January 5, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2012 It's been a few years since we were on her, but that's one of the main reasons we like the other classes better than Radiance Class. It felt like the outdoor pool area was too small and it was always hard to find seats in the sun if we waited until after breakfast. The solarium was nice, it would have been great for a cold weather cruise, but we like to be in the sun as much as possible when we're in the Caribbean, not under a glass ceiling! We're doing Jewel again in December and we'll just plan ahead on sea days this time.
