Billy and Charlie's Mum Posted January 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2012 If you are coming from the airport..... yes, there is a shuttle bus that will take you to the port. I have used it but I can't remember how much, don't think it was more than 15 - 20 $ each. If there is more than 2 of you it would be more economical to take a taxi. JeanBee Posted February 6, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2012 Regardless of what you were told when you booked, P&O is now charging $15 Aust each way for the shuttle-bus pick-up and drop-off: http://www.pocruises.com.au/alreadybooked/pages/arrivaldepartureinformation.aspx If there's more than one person travelling, a taxi may be the better option

campingman Posted January 18, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) Hi Campingmanthe shuttle has not been complimentary for a few years now. it is contracted out on a commercial basis. We found it more convenient and cheaper to get a taxi both ways. regards That is incorrect information now.Newcastle Buses (depot at Hamilton) contacted myself in Sydney yesterday and said that they are on a contract with Newcastle Ports (ex Maritime Services Board, which is being sold).Due to the the public cannot walk within the area. Newcastle buses went to a lot of trouble sending very clear, marked map to include Newcastle/Stockton/Queens Wharf Terminate. They passed on that it was a complimentary Bus. If you search Google you will bring up pre advertised,Newcastle Ships Conveyance on dates,by Newcastle Buse, are advertised complimentary. As a extra NEWS. Newcastle Small Business are calling out, for a proper Terminal. Nobody will finance it whatsoever? NSW Government, old Labour and now Liberal wont Finance,as its Newcastle,as yet, their Thieves and Corruption will allow them to ripe up their City Railway. The Newcastle people including Maitland and beyond are NOT HAPPY. Thank You Edited January 18, 2014 by campingman

Gnomey Posted January 19, 2014 #13 Share Posted January 19, 2014 We were on Radiance in November last year and the shuttle from the ship to the city was free and one of the best services we've seen. It runs almost constantly from the ship to a location near the overbridge to the city centre.
Very Frequent Flyer Posted January 20, 2014 #14 Share Posted January 20, 2014 We were on Radiance in November last year and the shuttle from the ship to the city was free and one of the best services we've seen. It runs almost constantly from the ship to a location near the overbridge to the city centre. Couldn't agree more. I was there in Feb last year and the shuttle ran like clockwork. They even had volunteers on board the bus handing out pamphlets and answering queries on Newcastle. Very helpful indeed, even though I've lost count the number of times I've been to Newcastle.
