youda97 Posted January 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2012 I am wondering if anyone tips at Palo for dinner or brunch?
OceanLiner Posted January 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2012 What would be the reason for not tipping?
MBprincess Posted January 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2012 You will want to tip. It is always the best service on the ship.
Shmoo here Posted January 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2012 I am wondering if anyone tips at Palo for dinner or brunch? While a portion on the co-pay for the meal is a tip - you'll find you want to tip more. We've done dinner and brunch & tipped extra everytime. :)
youda97 Posted January 27, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted January 27, 2012 Thanks. That helps. I was wondering because I was reading an article and it said that most people dont because you are already paying for a higher price for the food and that it was included in the price. But I feel unless the service is bad that 20.00 is not really that much for the service or the food and you should tip. Thanks for the advice. CC Help Jenn Posted January 28, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2012 What type of extra tip do you leave (if you dont mind me asking) for a Palo Brunch? Dinner?
Love2cruisemom Posted January 28, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Yes you still need to tip your server! The fee you pay is for the food not the tip at all. These are the best of the best servers on Disney! You should tip like you were dining at a 5 star plus restaurant! Don't cheat your server! ducklite Posted January 28, 2012 #8 Share Posted January 28, 2012 We looked at it as if we were at a similar restaurant for a similar meal at home and what we would leave. We had three in our party at Palo on our recent cruise and left $30 at dinner--brunch would have been the same. We also slipped the sommelier $10 in cash. At Remy we left $50 for two plus a cash tip to the sommelier.
youda97 Posted January 28, 2012 Author #9 Share Posted January 28, 2012 This is what I was reading reguarding tipping. http://www.cruisecritic.com/blog/index.php/2011/07/25/tipping-points-ive-already-paid-30-do-i-have-to-tip-at-the-for-fee-alternative-restaurant/
ducklite Posted January 28, 2012 #10 Share Posted January 28, 2012 The waitstaff on the DCL ships get a very small amount of the service charge--probably works out to about the same as the waitstaff in the MDR's for the suggested tips. However they provide a far superior level of service and should be rewarded accordingly.
