elcuchio24 Posted January 28, 2012 #28 Share Posted January 28, 2012 I don't think people realize how expensive NCL is, like twice as much! Boo! Hopefully the CCL jump won't be major.
joepeka Posted January 28, 2012 #29 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Holy crap. Carnival gives the bottles away by comparison. You took the words (and the booze) right out of my mouth.

MissKIA Posted January 28, 2012 #33 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Wish they would take a lesson from Disney, never cruised em, but they let you carry on all you want, and have free soda Not even close to a fair comparison. Disney charges close to twice as much as Carnival, so it doesn't exactly even out. I'd rather pay $800 pp for a balcony on Carnival and pay $55 for my bottle of Malibu than $1500 pp for a balcony on Disney and get to bring my Malibu on with me.
MissKIA Posted January 28, 2012 #34 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Funny ,I was just going to make a Canadian comment. Bon Voyage prices (keeping in mind 1 liter not 750) are the same as Quebec.More or less. More or less a good deal. No need for vasoline. Exactly. The prices from Bon Voyage aren't really much different than we pay in Canada so it sure doesn't bother me AT ALL! :D
Scottohiocpa Posted January 28, 2012 #35 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Nice to hear from you again Boo Boo. Cruiserjul and I are going on the Pride out of Baltimore in March. We went on the exact same Triumph trip out of NOLA last year and I entered the Bartender contest again with the same drink - AND I won! We just ordered a bottle of Rum last week for our upcoming trip from Bon Voyage. Glad to hear I beat the price increase. Our last bottle of Bacardi was actually a 1.1 litre european version, so we got about 25 shots out of it.
kmc500 Posted January 28, 2012 #36 Share Posted January 28, 2012 Therefore, while paying $40 plus tax for a liter of $18 booze seems insane, it is much better than ordering individual drinks from the bar. Of course, you will need to bring your own mixers or use lemonade, OJ, etc. available free on the ship to make a drink (plus lemons or limes from the bar or room service). I agree. We spend plenty for drinks in the casino and at the bars, but we love to have a drink in the cabin before dinner or bed. I drink Chivas. At $60 per liter, that is only about $20 more than we pay normally around here, and a lot better than we would pay room service for a couple of shots. Hope you have a fantastic cruise in March. This is the first time we've ordered Bon Voyage. I'm really trying to have everything pre-paid so I don't have to worry about a thing when we get there. It will be good to get away from this strange Ohio winter...getting excited! Say hello to Jul for me.
Redlats Posted January 29, 2012 #38 Share Posted January 29, 2012 http://www.*****/Carnival/alcohol.html Has up to date Bon Voyage pricing (accurate as of last week) Are you sure the price increase has not happened already? I'd like to order a wine package, but the website says that wine packages prices went up in early 2012. I might as well wait until just before the cruise now. nylori Posted January 29, 2012 #39 Share Posted January 29, 2012 Cruised Disney once when our kids were little. Nice but not worth double the price! We start ordering room service oj at bkfst. for the mixers.Oj is closed down when bkfst ends on the buffet. U can get room service oj but u have to wait and once they brought grapefruit juice.! YUCK as a mixer. We do bring pop on board but i don't like that mixed with my alcohol. DH does. We love beer but on a cruise not so much. $28 for a bucket [about ]. Makes $40 a bottle that last 4 to 5 days look great! Plus the 2 bottles of wine we bring on board.
FlaBubba Posted January 29, 2012 #40 Share Posted January 29, 2012 Sure hope it don't go up too much more. I just ordered a bottle of Dewars 12 yr old, told me they didn't have the White Lable anymore. 63 bucks it was, up 3 dollars from what I paid this past May on the Magic. Better then not having it I guess.:D

The wine packages are different, you can order them thru the website, for alcohol, you have to call so price changes would be on a different schedule. I'd like to order a wine package, but the website says that wine packages prices went up in early 2012. I might as well wait until just before the cruise now. http://www.*****/Carnival/alcohol.html Yes, wine package prices did already go up. They will not change. It is the liquor prices that are currently RUMORED to be going up. I don't think it has been confirmed, just heard by one person. Although if you are cruising soon it may be worth ordering on Monday, in case it does actually go up Tuesday.
crazyboys Posted January 30, 2012 #44 Share Posted January 30, 2012 We cruise in April - how far ahead can you place an order? I ordered for my Carnival Magic cruise in March 2013. She did tell me that the prices were going up in 4 days, that was Friday. I ordered 4 bottles, have 3 cabins and it was $173. Ranged from $38, $40, and $55. Robwerks Posted January 30, 2012 #48 Share Posted January 30, 2012 Not sure how far ahead they let you order but... I just placed an order for our April 13 sailing that is 70+ days out. Also found out that there is a limit of 4 bottles per cabin. I ordered four. Sounds like a lot but this is a two week cruise. Just an FYI.
