SANDEE Posted February 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Has anyone ever flew into Hawaii and then did a 7 day cruise of the islands at Christmas time? Just checking to see if this is possible. Sandee
chrysalis Posted February 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Does Princess even do such a cruise?
5onadime Posted February 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2012 i have done the NCL Pride of America 7 day round trip from Honolulu on Springbreak. It was the most wonderful vacation I have ever experienced. I do not think that Princess does this route
Elua Posted February 9, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Aloha Kakou, No, Princess does not offer an itinerary like this. The reason NCL can do this is because their "Hawai'i ship" is registered in the US, and our ships are not. Therefore the PSA, (Passenger Services Act) does not apply to them. paul929207 Posted February 9, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Princess does not do any straight Hawaii cruises. They only do ones that start and/or end somewhere else. They are either roundtrip from the US west coast, or one way from places like Tahiti. Only the one NCL ship meets the legal requirements to do Hawaiian cruises. Tallcruiser Posted February 9, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2012 I love that Princess does the R/T out of LA! I hate to fly!!!! Love to cruise. If you don't have time and want a more intensive cruise, you would want to choose another cruise line. Either way Hawaii is Paradise :D
Cruisin' Chick Posted February 10, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2012 We did the Hawaiian RT twice for the holidays -- in 2005 and then in 2010. We have also done land trips in Hawaii, once for our honeymoon. I'm not fond of flying at all, so the Princess cruise is a great vacation for us with the bonus of the time in Hawaii. I think if it was a matter of spending more time in Hawaii, we would stay in a hotel and fly to whatever islands we want to see.
