Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted August 12, 2012 #765 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Wonderful photos! Very clear. I remember the man in the striped shirt as the ship went by. He looked as if he was calling to someone on the camera or on shore. We had a lot of rain and lightening up here in Palm Beach County about that time. Allure seemed to be having decent weather though. I hope so anyway.
CruiseList Posted August 12, 2012 #766 Share Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) This is what I love about modern technology. Here's a photo from someone on the Allure as she went out. Too bad they weren't facing the Port Everglades webcam building! It'd be great to have a photo of the photographers themselves! C Cruise Dude Posted August 12, 2012 #767 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Does anyone have an idea of how the port webcams are controlled? I know that on some webcams in Hawaii, you, the viewer, can sometimes take control of the camera. I was watching the Miami cam and no one was following the path of the ship. Thanks

Ocean Boy Posted August 13, 2012 #771 Share Posted August 13, 2012 The Port Everglades webcam does have a 'user controlled' version. The link is on the website. I never understood how one can have a "user controlled " wrbcam when there are 800 people watching the same cam.
emmy Posted August 13, 2012 Author #772 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I never understood how one can have a "user controlled " wrbcam when there are 800 people watching the same cam. I have used the 'user contolled' webcam at non peak times and have not had any issues accessing it. I cannot be certain but I do know at one time it was not made available during the prime sail away times of 4 - 6pm. Will have to check on that next sail away.:)
Rare BillOh Posted August 13, 2012 #773 Share Posted August 13, 2012 I never understood how one can have a "user controlled " wrbcam when there are 800 people watching the same cam. Frequently you are given a time limit where you have sole control. When it lags, it takes you that long to find what you are looking for frequently. Try this one on a weekday middle of the day.
