NCL Star - tender question

From what I can tell we will have to tender in Belize, but I have a couple questions.

We booked an excursion online, and on my confirmation they advised us to take the early tender.

Are the tenders just first come first serve? Or is there some way to sign up/reserve a spot?

Thanks in advance

I believe I'll be on the same cruise and also have an early excursion in Belize. In the past NCL has had early ship excursion people meet in a designated location, then walking the early Excursion groups to early tenders. Hopefully the same thing will happen again on our cruise. It is one of the advantages of booking ship excursions vs private ones.

It will if you booked an NCL tour. If the op just booked online they will need to get a tender ticket in the morning and be one of the first inline.

If you booked the tour on your own and not through NCL....pay attention to your freestyle daily as to where they are distributing tender tickets. Send a representative of your group to get the early tender tickets which are distributed on a first come first basis after the NCL excursions and the suite passengers have been taken care of.

NCL tours/VIPs/suites get 1st tender..on ours, there was room and they started loading ppl with tender tickets. everyone with a NCL excursion will be asked to meet in one place, usually the theater. VIPs and suite guest get escorted down to the tenders. they will announce, in the daily, when tender tickets will get handed out.

the tender are big, most hold 150 ppl and move very fast. as one tender leaves the gangway another moves in to dock with the ship.

all independent tours will tell you to take the early tender, they know how things work and you may not be on the 1st tender. the only thing is that the star is bigger then the spirit and has more passengers to move to shore..that could be a minor problem to work out.

NCL booked fishing trips /snorkeling trips and beach excursions leave from small boats at the 2nd gangway. they didn't take the tenders. it worked much better/quicker then i thought it would.

Thank you for the info... I have a private tour booked and this is helpful.

It is vital, you are at the ticket distribution early and ready to go. In Dec. I was on a private snorkel trip, (as I always am) and one party, got held up an hour waiting in line for a tender.

There can be many early birds wanting to get off a ship, and tenders only hold so many. Belize is also a long tender time. So be prepared.

Just to make sure I have this straight, are the Belize tender tickets handed out the morning of? And for those who have done it recently, what time did they start giving out tender tickets?

There are 5 ships in port  the day we are there so I would like to get off as quick as possible.

Thanks

they are handed out morning of your arrival. I suggest you head there 1/2 hour PRIOR to what is posted and be ready to go at that time.
