gov. fees/taxes increase???

I booked a 2 day coastal to vancouver and when I booked last year the taxes/fees were $25 pp, NOW its $35 pp....glad I booked early... is this normal to have the "fees" go up??? thanks.newbie.

If the fees go up, Princess will pass the increase on to you (it doesn't matter that you booked early). If they go down, you'll get a refund as OBC...

 

And yes, it is very normal for fees to vary.

Fees go up, fees go down. Sometimes it's pennies, sometimes more. Kind of like gas prices. :) Pretty normal.

Governments change the fees and taxes often. If the cruise line knows of the change when you make final payment, the amount is adjusted. If they learn of the change after final payment, a credit or deibit is applied to your onboard account

Generally if you are before the final payment date, your final payment will be adjusted for any changes to the taxes/fees. After the final payment date, you will get the adjustment to your onboard account. We've seen it go both ways--up and down. There should be a notice in the Cruise Personalizer about the change for your cruise.
