MARCH 31 - Celebrity Eclipse - Ship Details & Do Not Miss Advice?

We are sailing at the end of the month. We have sailed Celebrity a couple of times, but have primarily sailed RCCL and Carnival. We just wanted to know about details we should not miss and any ship advice. We have two children (9 & 12 year olds).

For example, we really enjoyed the Solarium pool on the Celebrity Millennium and were thrilled that they had a family hour. What about this glass blowing? Any tips /advice are appreciated.

Hi TN-CruiseGirl,

Don't hold your breath on seeing any family time in the Solarium Pool... generally speaking that area is ADULTS ONLY (you must have been in an "unusual situation / sailing" on the Millenium in that regard)

Cheers!

On our last Solstice TA, there was a family hour in the Solarium in the morning and again in the afternoon. This was probably because of the cooler temperatures in November. The times were clearly posted at the entrance, but we actually never saw more than a couple of families there. No unaccompanied children were allowed.

I believe sometimes if the cruise is sailing in cooler climates they offer family time in the solarium. We were on the Eclipse the first week of April last year and there were no children allowed. It was warm enough to enjoy the outdoor pools.

We LOVED the glass blowing demonstrations. My advice is to plan to attend the first half of it. Each demo is 2 hours and just seems to take forever, even though it's quite interesting. We made it through 90 minutes and just couldn't sit still any longer. They hold the demos twice per day, so no need to rush to it thinking it's only offered a couple of times per sailing. It was quite enjoyable, but we must have had ants in our pants and just couldn't sit any longer. Also, because of the location, it gets quite windy and chilly, so just prepare for that. You'll have a great time!

Love them wings at the pool grill, they don't keep them out, you have to ask for them.

We have cruised in SL, CS and EQ since January and not a wing to be had. They used to have bratwurst and Polish sausages too, all the above ships only offered hot dogs, hamburgers, vigiburgers, turkey burgers and fires. Is asked the cook and he said "No More". Bummer, eh! ~ Ric

Loved the Eclipse! Check out my photos and review for more detailed info.

We really enjoyed the Masque theme party, held in the first night, and the Dancing with the Stripes dance competition.

It was a choreographed dance put on my members is the theater production staff. Dancers and singers I'm costume descended the stairs on the grand foyer dressed in Elizabethan costume. The band played Rock

Tunes, including time

Warp and the audience was encouraged to dance too. The dancers even went up and down

in the elevators. The band kept playing for at least an hour after the dance routine was over. Great fun!
