Our Fabulous Vacation: My Liberty of the Seas Photo Review

Recommended Posts

I really liked all the outdoor seating at many of the restaurants on Las Olas. Upon the recommendations on Cruise Critic and Tripadvisor, I suggested we give Mangos a try. We wanted to get a table outside, however it was so busy there that we settled for a booth in the back area with large windows instead.
Yes we love Mangos! I'm about to post about that spot in a few :)
Sorry I jumped the gun. I just get overexcited thinking about it. By the way, your menu photos come out so sharp! Does your camera have special setting for print? Edited by cruise pup

At first, Crystal tried the Egyptian Mango Nectar to drink...it was waaay too thick, so she went with the IBC Root Beer. She loved it.

I ordered a Greek Salad with Blackened Chicken. Rae had the Las Olas Shrimp (pasta dish), and Crystal had the Lobster Pot Pie.

Everything was DELICIOUS! All the seafood was incredibly fresh. Loved my salad, and the chicken on top was very flavorful.

Chrystal,

The pics of the food from Mango's are mouthwatering. I might have to check that place out next time I'm in Ft. Lauderdale.

Oh my goodness everything was so good! I highly recommend it.

Your food pictures are amazing. I am sitting thinking that exactly 2 days from today we will be sitting at Coconuts having our first "vacation meal" and I cannot wait! I am so hoping they will have the bratwurst burger on special that day! If not, I think I may try the coconut shrimp appetizer and the Lobster Roll for lunch. YUMMY!!!

OMG!!! I've spent about an hour or so reading all the posts... and at least another half an hour looking for that 'invisible' butterfly on your Conzumel pics!!!LOL!!:D I've literally done no work this afternoon and have enjoyed every minute of it!!

Girl.... This review is one of the best that I've read for sure! Its clear that you and your friends know how to travel and travel well!!! Who wouldnt want to travel with you all!! I re-lived my day in Cozumel with you all... sooo cool!

Love the fact that you've covered pre and post cruise as so much of the vacation planning goes into these areas too!

Food pics have been the best!! I'm trying to get on one of these class ships later in the year, glad to have read such a positive and detailled review to get me just that bit more motivated!!!

A big hi and many thanks to you (and friends) for sharing your experience!

OD;)

P.S If you need a 4th let me know!!LOL Will finally save Rae the pullman!!

Let me begin by telling you that because of YOU, I've not gotten anything done around my house this morning.

Yes, that's right. The laundry, the making of beds, care of the pets, the grocery list - have all sat unattended....because I've been sitting here for the past hour, totally engrossed in your fabulous review. :D

Oh, the food porn. The fashion porn. The port porn. I have sat here and soaked it all in - vicariously enjoying your cruise and the fun that the three of you obviously had.

And now...NOW...I MUST go back and read all of your previous reviews.

So...it's all your fault that nothing will get done today. :p

Seriously, though - I have enjoyed this review. I love reading upbeat, positive reviews - as I am an upbeat, positive person myself - and I have also enjoyed your beautiful photos. You really brought this cruise to life!

I would LOVE to take you with me since it's just my 15 yr old son and myself. He is hooked on cruising just like me as he is very outgoing and by the end of the 1st day has tons of new friends already. I hardly see him....He plays AAU basketball year round and believe it or not he spends most of his time on the ships basketball court. So....I have no one to hang out with, although I like to talk, so I am sure I will meet some people! But it sure would be fun to have you along Chrystal!

I'll keep you posted in case we need a 4th! Rae's looking forward to sleeping in an actual bed next time :p

I was wondering what Rae and Crystal's impressions were of the cruise? Everybody experiences cruising differently and I would love to know what they thought of Royal Caribbean and the Liberty of the Seas? Would they do it again?

They LOVED it! Crystal sailed the Serenade with me in 2010, and Rae sailed the Carnival Glory with me last year.

Both loved the ship. Crystal had a blast, she loved how many more activities there were on the Liberty than the Serenade. Of course, the Serenade is designed for port-intensive itineraries, so there wouldn't be as many bells and whistles on that ship, but I knew the Liberty would be great for her.

As soon as Rae stepped on the ship, she said she noticed the higher quality of the RCI ship compared to the Carnival Glory. She noticed it in the ship design, service, decor, and amenities. She loved everything, the exception being the food. She liked Carnival's food a bit more.

That being said.....Rae and her husband are (tentatively) planning to sail the Allure with us this year. It would be a dream come true. Wesley and I have been wanting to vacation with them for years! :D:D:D

Crystal's next trip will be an All-Inclusive in Jamaica. She's caught the travel bug!

Thanks so much for this review. I enjoyed reading all of it. Glad you girls had a great time.

DH and I will sail Liberty in 20 days so your review was just in time to assure me we made a good choice of ship. Although our itinerary will be a little different I am looking forward to my first Freedom class ship.

Thank you, Judy! You made an excellent choice. Happy to hear you found the review helpful. I see you're sailing the Allure this year too. Sounds like a big year, enjoy your cruises! :)

I figured they both loved the Liberty....My first 2 cruises were on Carnival and then I switched to RCCL and never looked back. I won't cruise any other line....They are just so great. I did an All Inclusive this past Jan in Cozumel and honestly its just not the same as cruising and the food was not good. I am sticking to Cruising only from now on. I am truly hooked!

Interesting, where did you stay in Cozumel? We were all thinking of having a land vacation there next year. I am hooked on cruising though!
