raudacruise Posted May 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2004 Some sort of computer glitch has caused Delta to ground all flights this afternoon. What little info there is can be found Here. Since Delta is a major player in Miami and Fort Lauderdale thought this warning might be interesting to folks flying out today/tomorrow. We had a similiar thing happen with American West when they could not file flight plans. Ended up eating one night a hotel in Vegas because of it. raudacruise Posted May 1, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 1, 2004 Turns out that it was only Atlanta, but for most folks you can't get anywhere on Delta without flying through. Also, saw that they seem to be recovering from this. Moral of the story, fly the day before. George & MaryBeth

raudacruise Posted May 1, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted May 1, 2004 Newt, agree with your opinion of American West. They closed down the mini-hub in Columbus about a year ago. Was bad but other airlines soon moved in to provide similar routes. As of last article in the paper, only 2 routes that were direct are now indirect. After our experience we started calling the airline American Guess (as in when you really going to depart). They actually pushed us on the plane, went back and then said the flight had been canceled, go back home and call this number about when your flight will be rescheduled. And "Have a Nice Day".
