jgonzalez720 Posted April 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2012 Hi All! Will be in port in Nassau and was wondering if there are beachs that are free? We have not been to Nassau in a few years but seems as though after reading this board most charge a day fee. We are a large group and rather spend the extra $$ in some of the other ports since we are only at the island till 2pm. Any advice would be great!! Any advice would be great!! the 2 main free beaches are: Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island, $4cab or water taxi and a short walk. No amenities, no restrooms. Rough surf. Independent vendors hawking. Chairs, umbrellas, rum drinks, hair braiding, jetski, t shirts, jewelry etc. This beach is sometime closed due to rip tides.. depends on the weather. In Nassau. Junkanoo beach. Easy 10 minute walk from the port. Restrooms, concession stands, bar, YOu can rent chairs, some vendors, not jetskis. The water is crystal clear and calm.. great for families with little ones. I would like to go there in October if it is - we don't dock until noon.
bagelmom6 Posted April 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2012 We were there two weeks ago and it was very clean. We didn't see any broken glass. We were there with our 5 y.o. DD and she had a great time. The water was beautiful and the sand was clean and good for building sandcastles. I would definitely go back.
