Suite Guarantee

A suite guarantee just showed up for our cruise in September which isn't too bad of a price.

Final payment isn't until mid July......do you think they will drop more before (or after) final payment? What have you all seen as a pattern with suite gaurantees?

I noticed balconys have gone up..so maybe they are trying to fill Js's and above?

If you like the price, grab it. If the price goes down before final payment, you can get an adjustment. If the W price goes down after final payment, nothing you can do...best not to look...watch the higher categories after final payment, where there is a chance to move up.

Thanks.

Do you know..once they assign rooms..are you able to get the room number changed if the same category is available?

I have been able to switch within the category. I have done it several times with no hassle at all. Some people report success asking to go back into the gty pool...I have never tried that. Of course, as you say, swith within the category assumes that there are other cabins still available. An early assignment maximized your odds of switching, but I wonder if late assignments are more likely to be upgrades (once the JS's sell out). I have not hear of "bad" JS or above cabins on Oasis...I would hope there are none.

We booked a suite guarantee on a previous Oasis sailing. We received our JS cabin assignment within a week or two. It was a "connecting" cabin, which I don't really prefer. (No experience with one, but still prefer non-connecting). I noticed other JS cabins available, called RCCL, and they switched me to another non-connecting JS of my choice with no problem! So, really, since I still chose my room (later in the process), it wasn't like a "guarantee" at all. Of course, there has to be other rooms available to choose from when you receive your stateroom assignment...

You can change within the same category assigned however the official policy is that, once assigned, the only time you go back into the guarantee pool is if you take a lower price on a guarantee (at which point policy states you must go back into the pool). The guarantee policy is laxly applied, however so YMMV.
