This will be our DD's first cruise they are 6 and 8. I would love to see how kids dress. I never really paid attention to childrens attire when we cruised in the past.

This is my daughter on a regular night.

Please don't judge me and my husband. We are not very photogenic.

Lol! Exactly why I do all the packing, my DF would forget to pack any pants and probably underwear too!!!

Not me - my husband does his own packing. That way we if we are getting ready for formal night and he discovers all he has are green pants - it is his fault not mine. Or if he forgets to pack his black belt and has to wear his brown one with black pants. Oh well, why didn't YOU pack it! Won't be my fault! LOL

Here's a pic of my daughter (then 4 years old) and her two cousins on formal night aboard Adventure of the Seas... you can't really see it, but the waistband of my daughter's dress is black sequins - very pretty! Much of what we saw on children that evening was similar in style to our kidlets...

Oh, and you can see another of her cruise outfits in my signature picture too! Tartan skirt, white tank and velvet shrug... gosh I love kids clothes! :)

Why do you care what other people wear? I don't get people. Do you judge books by their cover? You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. What you wear doen't give you class, dignity or rule abider. What it does give some is Snobbiness and nose in the air , your all that. Those that dress up because they like to is great, those that dress up to try and impress others are a joke and usually the ones who put down others by what they wear.No I'm not talking about cut off shorts. tank tops and hats.

WOW. How did we go from, "I'd like some input so I know what to bring," to "what you wear doesn't give you class, dignity or rule abider (?) ?

Your response implies that this is distressing to you.

For the answer, I have a tux and I wear it and yes I have plenty of company.

Last spring break ('11). Me and my then 12yr old dd, and me and my then 8yr old ds. I have a family pic somewhere with my dh also included but can't find it. He dressed in a dress shirt and tie like my ds did.

My DF would blame me anyway saying I should have done it in the first place and we wouldn't be having this conversation! Which unfortunately is so true that I could see having that conversation if I didn't do it....lol :o

Besides he's the type he could care less if he didn't match but I do care.

One of my DF, my DDs ages 11 and 7, plus myself on my DDs first cruise in November 2011 on the Conquest.

The other is of my on the Ecstacy in March 2011.

I don't pay retail for anything, all three of our dresses were less than $50 total. And I only paid $25 for the blue dress it was on clearance at Dillard's! :D

I'm not sure why we don't look very happy because we were having a great time!...lol

You guys look very nice! How did you manage to sang a table for two? My fiance and I will be going on our honeymoon cruise next month and want a table for two. One person told me I should email the maitre d. Is that what you did or did you just luck out?

My wife and I just got back from the 15 night Spirit cruise to Hawaii and we had a table for two on all 15 nights. No secret...just do "Your Time Dining" and make the request when you get to the MDR. Of those 15 nights we waited just 15 minutes on one night. No wait on the others and we always requested the same wait team. The only "secret" is to be nice to the people at the podium when you enter the room.

Should add that on "Elegant" nights I would say the majority of the people dressed very nicely but on the "Regular" nights we saw everything but most still followed Carnival's recommendations for atire

My hubby & I cruised on Carnival in June (on the Dream). This is us on the two dress up nights...

June2011cruise002cc-S.jpgJune2011cruise001cc-S.jpg

We were more dressed up than some, less dressed up than others... but, it was a lot of fun and we both really enjoyed it. One of those nights was the evening we ate in the steak house for our wedding anniversary - I think it was the black dress...

My mom and I on formal night on the Freedom of the Seas... I hate dressing up and actually only own one dress, which is what I'm wearing. she also wore a simple black dress, and we both wore nice shoes. We changed right after dinner, then felt out of place for the rest of the night because most people in the areas we went to (saw a show and the piano bar) still had their formal attire on. This was in 2010.

Here we are on Fascination. I love this picture, because my friend and I went shopping before the cruise and found great deals on these dresses at dress barn! We had a ball that day. Anyway, my friend forgot to remove her wrist bands and later commented that they made a great addition to her formal wear for the evening!! :D I thought so too!
