Tiffny111 Posted October 24, 2012 #103 Share Posted October 24, 2012 We will be here in less than a month! The price does seem pretty steep but I love the fact that everything is included and I don't have worry about finding a cab driver for the day. When we cruise, we usually find a beach and spend the day. I hope this is worth the cost. From the pictures, it sure does look like it. Can't wait! Love2CruiseMore Posted November 4, 2012 #105 Share Posted November 4, 2012 Any new reviews? Do they limit the number of people? Thanks!
mamajules Posted November 5, 2012 #106 Share Posted November 5, 2012 Just went this past Thursday - when we booked it was $65 per person. Understand its now more - totally worth it, had a fabulous day! Do not know if they are limiting the number of folks or not. There were all of 10 people there the day we went. Lunch was plenty and delicious. Folks were very friendly and always checking on you. We snorkeled a bit, floated around in their floating chairs and kayaked. Also toured their little zoo - Rico the monkey a rascal. Would book again in a heartbeat. Try a monkey la la - local drink concoction that was yummy! keylimepie Posted November 5, 2012 #108 Share Posted November 5, 2012 If you purchase just the transportation and entrance option only, then can you just purchase food from the restaurant or how does that work? Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help! Ah, too late to edit...but I went back and re-read and saw that there is another boat that goes from Frenchy's 44 to the key...I was under the impression that the restaurant was on the same grounds. Just got an email back from the owner and trying to decide on which package!
ondebyou Posted November 7, 2012 #110 Share Posted November 7, 2012 We will be there in January, and fortunately, we too booked when the rates were 65 pp. Soooo looking forawrd to this little piece of Paradise!! I have read tons of good reviews for this place and by the time we finally get there, it will certainly be nice, and well worth it! :D

mamajules Posted November 7, 2012 #112 Share Posted November 7, 2012 I don't think you can purchase food separately if you don't do the package that includes lunch - they grill it up there - no menu to order from. I agree $88 per person is a bit steep - we paid $65 and it was worth it. The meal alone would cost you a decent dollar in restaurants - there was chunks of grilled chicken and steak, shrimp and half a lobster tail, along with rice and beans, yucca chips, hummus and salsa. Transport around the island is pricey, too - we've done that before with Victor Bodden and Rony - it runs $25 per person and up. Here are a few pictures from our day:
ondebyou Posted November 8, 2012 #113 Share Posted November 8, 2012 Thanks for sharing your pictures Jules....looks like it must have been a little overcast that day? or was it just early? did it clear up for ya'll ? If i were wanting to experience a quiet, non-pushy type atmophere for our day on Roatan, without having to worry about transportation, lunch, and anything else.... I do really think I would book this place even for the 88pp price. Everyone in our group is excited to get there. The last couple to book with us will go with the 88pp deal.:)
mamajules Posted November 8, 2012 #114 Share Posted November 8, 2012 It was overcast off and on that day, even had a brief summer shower, but it was warm and the sun came out some too. Our hosts actually apologized that it was raining. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using Tapatalk
Love2CruiseMore Posted November 12, 2012 #115 Share Posted November 12, 2012 OK, so I'm trying to figure it all out! If Frenchy's 44 is on the mainland do you go back and forth for your food? Or do they bring it out to you on the island? Is the "zoo" on the island or mainland? Do you get to hold the monkeys? If you go for the $88 or $89 package you only get two drinks!?!? Really? Can you order more and for how much? I saw someone else ask if snorkel gear is included, but I don't see a reply, is it included? What time do they pick you up from the pier? I've read so many great reviews for this place, but I still feel so uninformed! Thanks for any help! :)
Love2CruiseMore Posted November 12, 2012 #116 Share Posted November 12, 2012 I just noticed the prices above aren't current, I wish! Now there are two packages that run $88 & $89 (includes snorkel trip by boat to the reef) and as I mentioned above you only get two drinks! That's where my questions are coming from. :) It seems like for the $ it should be AI on food and drink! I hope the owners are following along on this forum! Again thanks for any help/additional info!
wecamp Posted November 12, 2012 #117 Share Posted November 12, 2012 If Frenchy's 44 is on the mainland do you go back and forth for your food? Or do they bring it out to you on the island? They cook on the island. So if you don't buy a package with food they do not have extra food to purchase. There is a bar on the island. Is the "zoo" on the island or mainland? Do you get to hold the monkeys? It's all on the island. Yes you can ask to hold amonkey. If you go for the $88 or $89 package you only get two drinks!?!? Really? Can you order more and for how much? There is a full bar on the island and they are happy for you to purchase more drinks. I drank beer, it was $5. I think mixed drinks were $7. I saw someone else ask if snorkel gear is included, but I don't see a reply, is it included?Didn't snorkle so I don't know What time do they pick you up from the pier? They are there when the ship arrives. They take you back with a enough time to shop a little. Everything is on the island, you only arrive at Frenchy's and catch the boat to the island. It's the best excursion I have ever had. I want to book a cruise just to go back there.

Again thanks for any help/additional info! When we were there @ end of August, it kinda was 'all you can eat' because even tho they do serve you, at that time there was a substantial amount per plate, & they did come around & offer more - however, we were too stuffed to eat more, & as for the drinks, we were 'comped ' at least one more drink per person at no charge... Bottom line - you will NOT leave hungry, & three drinks each were plenty for us. YMMV!;)
