Sailfish Posted May 31, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2012 I am from Northern California, but have been on cruises out of FLA many times - but only once in early June and never during hurricane season, so we never experienced inclement weather. I am sure once at sea, the ships simply sail around bad storms. But what happens when it gets crazy in the embarkation port, like Tampa and Port Canaveral (where we will depart on two upcoming cruises in July). How does the cruise line handle the situation; do they delay departure? Do they cancel the voyage? How bad does it have to be for the cruise line to cancel the cruise? I have travel insurance, and I know you can't predict weather. But I am curious how the cruise line will handle an issue while you are in transit, and what happens if we can't return as scheduled. Thanks. Suzi
