The entire program is now on the VIFP tab at the top. http://www.carnival.com/loyalty/benefits.aspx

My profile shows gold as I have completed 8 cruises but I have my 8th & 10th cruise booked for December. I just started cruising in 2008 on Carnival. My very first cruise was in 2007 on NCL.

We have completed 8 cruises (58 days) with #9 & #10 (B2B) booked for Jan. 2013. Both are paid in full. Just printed my boarding pass for #10 and it shows VIP. Checked #9 and it also is showing VIP as is our luggage tag for 1st leg of B2B. Really surprised and very pleased.

It pays to keep in mind that programs such as this are done for the sole purpose of customer manipulation.

Any time a business offers rewards, free gifts, and other tokens of gratitude, they are massaging you to encourage continued patronage and/or additional sales. It seems odd to hear so much wailing about not being manipulated enough and in the right way by some clever marketing department. As a consumer, I'll eat the carrot if they give it to me, but I frankly refuse to chase carrots that are dangled in front of me. Seems a bit humiliating.

McDonalds doesn't offer the Monopoly Game each year out of the kindness of its heart. It does so because it wants to take advantage of all the yahoos who will go back again and again just to get that elusive Park Place token and win *millions* of dollars.

For me... It's all jacked up..... I can. Sign in but it states 0 points... I check it out and my VIFP number is not my past guest numbers... And none of my cruises are listed... And my address is not what they have listed... I change it... And it bounces back to the incorrect one..... At least I can see my currrrently booked cruise .... But no red box for countdown

Same for me except, my 9th cruise is in Sept. and 10th is in Feb. I just checked Sept. cruise luggage tags and they say VIP. So because we have 8 with two more booked within 18 months, we become platinum on number 9??

Well I just looked mine up and I have sailed on Carnival at least 6 or 7 times 7 day cruises each time going back to 1990 on the Mardi Gras and as recently as last year on the Dream and they say I have no days sailed. I put in a inquiry so I guess I will wait and see...and in the mean time look to cruise else where.

Not upset at all. I was platinum and although I have only 64 days I am still platinum. Still get priority boarding which some here said was going away for Platinum. Guess those people were wrong. No surprise there. I don't see where I lost anything except the 1 free casino entry without having to buy 1. Looks like there may be a couple of additions though. Have to check with the wife. Except for a small minority, it seems like all the hand wringing over this was overblown. There is certainly grandfathering which some have said there isn't.

Excellent. That's a great benefit for some people. That's even better than grandfathering.

For me, the most disappointing thing is that after all we were told, many people have less than before - especially Platinum members - of which we are two. I was hoping against hope that they might have at least made a few adjustments, but sadly that was not the case. Even though I don't cruise for the perks, it's a little hard to swallow that we will no longer get a free entry into a casino tournament nor will we have guaranteed dining times. We're Milestone, but sadly that doesn't translate into anything but Platinum:(

We are in the same situation-looks like they did away with milestone!!!! we are still just platinum also. Seems as though if you had reached milestone you should have gone right to Diamond level!!

My family and I are going on the Carnival legend leaving Tampa July 1. How do I find out about day trips and what not when we stop at different ports? Also how do I see who is going on the cruise I will be on?

Platinum members also lost guaranteed dining room reservations; for some people that may be important. For others the free tournament entry is a big deal, and for some others the limited laundry may be important. All of these things are not that big of a deal to me, but for some people they may be. You were one of the lucky ones to be platinum with only 64 days - nothing wrong with that as you went by the rules at the time. I have well over twice the days you have, am Milestone, yet I'm still platinum. After being told over and over that everyone would really LOVE this new program, most platinum members are disappointed, I would say. Will it keep me from cruising Carnival? No...I cruise other lines as well, though.

That's because you're only considered close to platinum under the old system if you had 8 or 9 cruises......5 isn't. They don't want people to try to take a bunch of short cruises to game the system for the next year and a half. I believe if you have 9 cruises, you only have the rest of the year to get your 10th cruise in, or something like that. If you have 8 cruises, you have 18 months to get the other 2 in.

From John's Blog interview with Rob (VP at Carnival) -

Since news of the VIFP Club leaked out, we’ve received a lot of questions for clarification from guests with a number of different scenarios that largely fit this description:

“I have five sailings, but plan to sail five more times in the next 12-18 months, will I be grandfathered into the Platinum level of the new program, but using the old program rules?”

So we’re changing the plan based upon early guest feedback. Now, any guest that completes 10 sailings by December 31, 2013, will be allowed to earn Platinum status in the new VIFP Club under the old program rules.

One other important note, once a guest begins his/her 10th sailing, s/he will be considered Platinum in the new program on that 10th sailing.

WOW! Wonder how many people will try to do that now...I don't know why, though, the Platinum "perks" just aren't that good.

:confused:What the heck man! I am showing 0 cruise days. I have more like 45 or so with Carnival. Has this happened to anyone else?

Only missing one cruise - a 12 day cruise no less. They have a request button to add missing cruises. I want my credit for that cruise.

Just went on to check my current reservation. I leave next month and it shows me with zero (0) VIFP points though I should have 34 points. 3 7day, 1 8 day and 1 5 day cruise. I called and was told I had to sign into the new program so I did. Now I have my old guest number and a new guest number, so does husband, and still no cruises. I called customer service and they said it should be fixed and looking right by tomorrow. I have spent a couple hours wasting time. Every time I pull up my profile, it has some random address in Canada, Puerto Rico, some other state, etc. Their program is totally messed up and I give up.

Exactly the same for me. I called customer service twice with long wait times. No help. They are saying to wait it out.
