vvnh16a Posted June 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2012 Recent buy in for Texas Holden have been different for various ships. On a transatlantic 2years ago .....Eclipse.."..the buy in was $60, whereas last year on the Century it was only $30. The buy in rates did not chage depending the time of day....ie it cost the same to play at 11am as it did 4 pm or 8pm. On the century, ($30 buyin) House rake was $5 with $30 going to the pot and it paid $120 for 1stplace and $80 for second.....based on an 8 player game. Ante,s went up every 10-12 minutes.....tried to get them to go to a 20 minute ante butno luck. Casino host did agree to lower the initial blinds. Winner typically determined in 45-50 minutes after start of play. Can someone tell me the recent buyin rates on the Summitt as well as other ships?? To encourage play I am surprised they do not lower buyin rates for the morning tournament games and then raise them, if they have enough players at the higher limits. Otherwise the table(s)sit empty and no one wins.
Gonzo70 Posted June 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2012 It has been $60 for the Texas Hold 'Em tournaments on my cruises on Millennium, Silhouette and Equinox.
Ozzmund Posted June 14, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2012 We also found a $60.00 buy in on our Millenium cruise this spring. We were on a 5 day cruise and found higher table minimums as well.

It is Monopoly market on the ship, maybe you can set up your own games amongst CC members, I wonder if they would let you.:D
vvnh16a Posted June 15, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted June 15, 2012 AT $60 were the tables full??. I know the Eclipse had 2 automated Texas tables and for the most part only one table had any action..the other table sat empty....all day and night long.To me it would make more sense to bring the buy in to a level that would generate some action and still be enjoyment to the passengers. mandream Posted June 15, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I've always seen a $60 buy in and full tables. Often there's a waiting list. Suppose it just depends who's on your cruise. Mike

There has been wait lists every cruise I have taken. $60 is not bad at all, it is the % the house takes that is unfavorable - but unlike Vegas they have a captive audience and no competition.
