luggage labels on the eclipse

We are on the eclipse in july. Last year 35 days before our cruise we went to the check in section on the internet and at the bottom there was a little blue box which said clickm here for luggage laels. We did and they arrived within 5 days. This time we have had a right problem. Everdently on 2 dates in may they were doing a trial of passengers printing off their own labels. But the rest of the dates labels were available. We tried over severadays and eventually phoned celebrity themselves.. they told us all sailings from southamptionthis year were not being issued with luggage lables,so you would have to print your own, in spite of their websites saying they were issuing labels. We phoned our TA who said they were issuing labels and to leave it with them . They contacted celebrity who put them on to their technical dept. Who pressed some button and low and behold the little blue square on our check in appeared, clicked on it and labels arrived!!!

So don't give up !

We sail on the 7th July and got luggage tags no problem from the Celebrity Site where you do your Set Sail pass etc.

We had actually got a first set through and then changed cabin and got second set promptly. You do get two chances to request although both passenger names are on a set of 8.

Maybe depends on who you book with. We booked this one direct with Celebrity.

I know Royal Caribbean is now going down the route of print your own, not a fan of this as it is all a bit of a nuisance. All a bit sticky back plastic Blue Peter style, having to cover in plastic, hole punch and use treasury tags to secure. Who carries a stapler with them to a cruise port !? And its not always practical to attach them at home if you have a few flight connections. So lets hope Celebrity keeps the pre ordered tags going in the UK.

squiddy,

It's fairly late in the game now, but, are you aware of the "Roll Call" thread for this cruise:

We ave had a pretty good amount of participation and have been discussing all of the issues and questions about the July 7 Eclipse cruise in particular...

Recently,I had no access to a printer and no labels.

So I cut a white plastic bag into strips, wrote our name and cabin number in felt-tip pen and tied them onto the handles of the cases.

No problem at all. So strong, could only remove them with scissors!!:p:p

We are also on the July 7 sailing and were able to order our luggage tags online, though later on some people from our roll call said Celebrity was no longer mailing them out, either you print them or get the bags tagged at the terminal. But just keep trying, there's more than a fortnight to go, you might luck out:)
