CRUISING71 Posted June 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2012 Where is the Tri Rail located at the MIA airport? And how do I get from FLL port to the Trai Rail in FLL so I can return back to MIA airport? Thanks, Tibbie
JohninDC Posted June 24, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2012 Cab from Port Everglades to the Tri-Rail station. By when you cruise in 2013 I believe that the Tri-Rail should go straight to MIA. Good luck! :)
Bobocasey Posted June 24, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2012 We have used the tri rail sytem several times in the past from Fll to MIA and back. Found it easy, dependable, and cheap. Got to love it.
Rare Oviedo32765 Posted June 24, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2012 I found this information on the MIA Airport FAQ webpage: "...and Tri-Rail Commuter Train Service , located just outside the airport (free shuttle service to and from the train station is available the lower level 1st level bus station). Please contact Tri-Rail directly to inquire about the rates and schedules for the train service." Here's a link to a map of MIA's terminals. Here's some info on bus service from the Tri Rail to Port Everglades. I have never used Tri-Rail and did some searching for you. Maybe someone more knowledgeable and with experience will come along and tell you exactly how to use it. I hope this helps.
megr1125 Posted June 24, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 24, 2012 it is a commuter rail, not known for timeliness and not luggage friendly.... they are doing construction, but as of now, the FLL & MIA airport stops are no place near the airport and you must ride a non-luggage friendly shuttle... that said, it is cheap and if you can handle your bags, then you should be OK.. BUT do NOT cut it too close...granted, i am not a resident and have only used it about a dozen times, never for cruises and in at least 8 of those times, it was late....4 times close to 2 hours due to cancellations, etc.... allow plenty of time......that's my only read advice, and do not have too much stuff to haul.... Gathina Posted June 24, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2012 Do a thread search here on Tri-rail..there was a giant one on here yesterday. I love the Tri-rail..I take it to the airport all the time. I am the only person you'll probably ever see on the Tri-rail threads who has never found it to be late. Ditto to what the others said about the luggage. The one time it was late was due to a car crossing the train track and getting smacked, and then they bused us to the next nearest station a few minutes away.
