cctn Posted September 27, 2012 #301 Share Posted September 27, 2012 I really like Kirstie and she did well last time - however, this time, competition with the Champs may be too much - I love her tho' and think she is cute - she is a crack up - I guess that long long Kiss she gave Tom was for his winning the Emmy - I didn't know that til last night - I also like PitBull -- my taste in music goes from one point to the extreme other!! Justin B... not really- carol[/quote] Would you believe i never heard of PitBull but you know what, people like her so they vote. Gloria Yes, we do like her -- PitBull is like an Eminem - but more tame, in my opinion - I love ENrique Iglesias.. .right now I am sad that Andy Williams passed... cctn Posted September 27, 2012 #303 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Yeah thats so sad i remerber him singing its the most wouderful time of the year, i think that the name of it Gloria My Dad's most favorite song was Moon River and I had to play that on the piano for him "all the time" - ha!ha! I play very simply, one note at a time - not all my fingers will touch those keys at the same time!! anyway, during his funeral services, my cousin played that song for him on his guitar and sang - it was beautiful - I loved that he introduced the Osmonds - another favorite of mine. carol

ILoveScotland Posted September 30, 2012 #306 Share Posted September 30, 2012 Very quiet here the past couple of days - of course, I haven't posted anything either. Right now I've got the Port Canaveral webcam going so I can watch the Freedom sailaway in about 25 minutes. I have a CC friend from the UK who's onboard and plans to wave a Union Jack. Those of us who will share the Presidential Suite on the Freedom in late 2013 often watch "together" so we can see our future home across the back of the ship as she heads out to see. That's it from the Central NC Coastlands. Beth

I've never been to Reno or that area at all. Maybe one day. I am looking forward to Christmas for the first time in years. I had become rather Bah Humbug for lots of reasons so no tree or decorations. When I moved I threw away or gave to a charity shop a lot of old ornaments, etc. This year now that I'm in my own home again and at last, I'm going to do it all! No Freedom for a year, Carol. But Brilliance in about 4 1/2 weeks - with two nights in the Big Apple pre-cruise. There are now 3 "Presidential Ladies" on the Brilliance but in our separate cabins. Should be so much fun. 'night. Beth Reno is not as flashy as Las Vegas - the Casino's are so/so... with so many casinos in CA now, not as many Californians go to Reno as they once did - but Reno is still busy as it is a good get away with some of us - 3 hrs from our house - We stayed in Sparks, which is right next door, mostly residential and lots of shopping and eateries - I am excited for your Brilliance cruise too!! it's great to plan activities with your cruise friends you will be meeting up with - The gals and I already made all our rezzies for the shows on the Allure - I don't think we needed to but we did anyway- can't wait for that cruise!! carol

I have ONE week! ha!ha! when I have 2 months, I don't get much done let alone ONE week!! maybe I should put up my Pretend tree right after Thanksgiving so that I can walk into my house and it'll be Christmas! carol

ILoveScotland Posted October 1, 2012 #318 Share Posted October 1, 2012 I thought this thread was for whatever was on our mind - including cruises we've taken, plan to take or want to take and other cruise information along the way. I haven't done any Christmas cooking in a long time. I used to make an old fashioned dark fruit cake on Thanksgiving weekend - did it every three or four years. I'd soak it in bourbon or red wine until Christmas. But, I was the only one in the family who ever ate it, so I quit. I may have to make a little one this year instead of a big one. Then it really can be just for me. Now a cruising question: Anybody ever used Rum Runners? I just bought a set of 4 - mostly small ones. Beth Probably cuz they are the AllStars --ha!ha! I remember when we were on our 2006 TA, the winner was Emmitt and my girlfriend emailed the news to me and I went around telling everyone!! so I remember that, but NOT where I put one of my Visa statements - going nuts looking for it - i'll just call for the amt I need - Castle looks good but Narce usually wants to watch the News - I should tape it - Carol

Beth This thread is for EVERYTHING, any subject at all - it's for US... that's why we are here, to be away from the other threads where they have negative folks who are always stirring up controversy - My East Coast Gang uses Rum Runners a lot - let me ask them ... that Booze cake sounds good Beth - I love a good fruit cake over the holidays - I think we can have a sub=thread under this one - and we can have all kinds of titles - one can be Recipes by Us... carol

I am with you, Castle is very fun to watch. I like the idea of sharing anything, including Christmas ideas/recipes here. I think it is all about enjoying life no matter what the 'thing' is that you enjoy. Of course cruising is high on the list but there are other things too. We can do what we want I believe (within reason ;)). Have a good day all!
ILoveScotland Posted October 2, 2012 #324 Share Posted October 2, 2012 I haven't watched last night's Castle yet, but it's recorded. Does everyone know that there are books by Richard Castle? In the series Castle is a writer, and he writes mystery books. He starts a new series about a female detective he names Nikki Heat. Well, someone (not sure who) has actually written these books, and they are great fun. I'm on the fourth of four right now. You find them by searching for "Richard Castle" as the author. A cruise question since this is a cruising web site: Has anyone ever taken a taxi from the cruiseport at St. Maarten over to Marigot? I think that's what I want to do next month. I know I don't want another tour, and I could go with some others to Maho, but I would like to have more time in Marigot than I did when I was there in 2011. Also, it will be market day, and I love to browse through local markets - sometimes even buy something! Beth
ILoveScotland Posted October 2, 2012 #325 Share Posted October 2, 2012 I'm watching last night's Castle right now. He's promoting his most recent book Frozen Heat. That's the name of the book I'm reading. Interesting how the fake book on TV is a real book by a so-called author. Beth
