Knitting needles on airplane ( southwest)

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any idea what the latest airline policy is about knitting needles with the airline? I would live to take my knitting with me on my flight from PVD to Seastac! But I remember right after 9/11 they were not allowed in flight bags

Please note that this can be airport specific. Some airports do not allow them. My friend met me in St. Louis in January. She flew out of San Jose and was NOT allowed to take her knitting needles in her carry on. I suppose you could print out the TSA rules and challenge them at the baggage check.... but I have seen other threads where it does seem to be dependent on the airport also.
