Bettytrouble Posted August 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2012 With all the talk of soot and aft suites/cabins.... We were in an RFS on deck 8... This was the Eastern itinerary. We never saw a hint, speckle or smidge of soot .One ping-pong ball , but no soot or grime or nuttin!!! The balcony was HUGE!!! and afforded shade after noon or so. No smells from smokers, no water from the Windjammer...just amazing views as the STRUCTURE!!! is a non-issue. You just look past it and do not even notice it. Lovely place for coffee, for reading, and for waving goodbye to the ports.

Wildcatfish Posted August 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2012 You found our ping pong ball! It's pretty windy on the upper decks, and makes for some tricky games of ping pong! Hope your cruise was as much fun as ours last week!
renee1222 Posted August 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2012 Thank you for this info...it's reassuring as we are booked in an aft on the eastern itinerary in December. Although, no RFS for us! lol :) You always hear conflicting reports for different ships, etc. I figured we could easily look past the structure. I think some people just go in with different expectations so they are disappointed more easily.

Oh maybe how they got hit in the head with a ping pong ball and got a concussion. Like you I have never had any problems on the Aft Balconies. Love them.
