Splendour -tender for Santorini

Sailing on the Splendour in a few weeks time, and I am looking for information on the tender for Santorini. Do you have to get tickets from Guest Relations or do you just queue.

 

We were tendered from IOS to Cannes and you just queued.

 

Any information would be helpful

When I was on Splendour we just queued for Santorini. No tickets were necessary. However, if you had an excursion you met in the theater and then they would escort you onto a tender to go ashore. :)

We were on Splendour back in May and unless you wanted to wait a long time you needed tender tickets. They started giving them out about 8 or 8:30 in the morning. Two of the guys in our group picked up tickets for our group of 13 and had to wait about 20-30 minutes just to get tickets on tender #2.

Normal process is the ship tenders passenger who have ship sponsored excursions first. They are let off at the south end of the island, I think it is called Akrotiri. Then the ship repositions farther north and starts tendering passengers off at Fira. So unless you are on a ship's tour or you aren't in a hurry, I would highly suggest getting tickets. Like I said earlier if you have a group only one person needs to wait in line.
