We will be arriving at 6:20am on a Saturday morning. Is there reduced train service on the weekends? It would take a while to clear customs, get our bags, and get to the train I would think.

 

Departures around 8 a.m. Saturdays are every 15 minutes. And you won't find it very crowded in the vestibules, so you can just take your luggage onboard easily, and will be at Wynyard around 25 min later.
