EithneMay Posted August 31, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2012 It is worth it! Go hungry and if you are a steak eater the filet is amazing! I also loved the French Onion soup, and the chocolate fondu for dessert! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

sandyss Posted August 31, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2012 We ate at the Tuscan Grill in June. Food was very good. BUT, service was too over the top and hovering for our liking. When the assistant waiter (waitress) made a comment to us about how good our food looked and she wished she could get some , it just seemed strange. We much preferred the food and service at Ocean Liners.
Shake Posted August 31, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Quick question. Is the dining room spacious with high ceiling and great views like on the S Class ships?
kannna Posted August 31, 2012 #7 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Answer: High ceiling not so great views. You can watch the people walk by on the jogging track and wave to them :)
excitedofharpenden Posted August 31, 2012 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Give it a go. The venue where the old flower shop used to be is very nice, but I must be one of the odd ones out and am not that keen on Tuscan. Personal taste, I find there's too much food and as an Italian theme is a bit ho hum. Is Vlaho still there? He's fabulous :) Vlaho left Constellation and went to Eclipse. He was there in April/May. I think he was going on holiday shortly thereafter so I'm not sure where he is now. Agree he's a great guy. Phil
hypercafe Posted August 31, 2012 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2012 This was built where the flower shop was at the aft end of the jogging tract. The flower shop was small with stairs down to the entrance of the buffet. I am anxious to see what it has turned into when we are on the Summit in Oct. kitty9 Posted August 31, 2012 #14 Share Posted August 31, 2012 We've known Vlaho since he was a waiter on Millennium. He truly is a fantastic guy and a hard worker.
packyourpixiedust Posted September 1, 2012 #15 Share Posted September 1, 2012 And the Mac & cheese. Sooooooo SOOO good. It is paired with the rib eye I believe, but you can have the filet, or another main dish and still get it as a side...it's amazing! And the appetizers are amazing! The food really is sooooo good and tasty.

Rare Lois R Posted September 2, 2012 #20 Share Posted September 2, 2012 are the specialty dining restaurants the same as the main diningroom where as you can order as much as you want of everything ? Hi:) The Specialty Restaurants are different than the main dining room. I suppose if you wanted to try a couple of different dishes they would bring it but in all the times I have dined in them? I order, appetizer, soup or salad, entree and dessert. So, I would say no, it is not as much as you want of everything. Other people might give you a different answer though. ParishM Posted September 2, 2012 #21 Share Posted September 2, 2012 you would be surprised how many people don't know you can order as much of anything you want in the main dining room. most people think it's like a regular restaurant where you get 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 desert. i have in the past ordered 3-4 shrimp cocktail appetizers and 2-3 different entrees & deserts. they will gladly bring you as much as you want ! i wondered if the speciality places are the same especially if i'm paying $30-$

Like I said, I order in the Specialty Restaurant as I would in a restaurant here at home. The Specialty Restaurants are different than the main dining room. Totally different atmophere, ambiance, whatever word you want to use. You are paying for a totally different galley too....the food is prepared.....it is not the same kitchen as the main dining room. Rare voyager1964 Posted September 2, 2012 #23 Share Posted September 2, 2012 I'd appreciate hearing from folks who have recently dined in the Tuscan Grille on the Constellation. I'm trying to decide if it's worth booking. Thanks for your review! Our experience is not very recent - we dined there on 1st night of our 12-nighter in September 2011. We were disappointed in that the cuisine of this place was not Italian. We requested seeing the chef (of course we said to thank him not to critisize). The chef was a very nice guy, but he was fancy of the Southern couisine. Southern - unfortunately means Tennessee, not Sicily :(
packyourpixiedust Posted September 2, 2012 #24 Share Posted September 2, 2012 LovesVaca - -My mouth is watering for the mac and cheese! Do you know if they serve it in the main dining room, too? Sadly, they do not :((( It is just so good. Quite salty, but just sooo sooo good!!! (I warn those that might be sensitive to salt.) On a side note, I have a hard time justifying the extra expense to eat in the Tuscan. I would not typically spend $70-$80 out on dinner, plus we paid for dinner in the MDR already. I have eaten there twice- neither time did I have to pay for- and I will HAVE to go back again. Because it is just TOO good not to return. I am a foodie, and loved all the choices. Agreed there is a little too much food- but how can that be a bad thing. We have to pace ourselves. mmm mmmmm . Now I want to return to re-experience the goodness! Btw, my husband is not a foodie, but still really enjoyed the meal- steak and potatoes, plus a caesar salad, he was in heaven. ENJOY!!!!!!! At Tuscan the portions are large, you will want to pace yourself. I have also asked for half orders of certain things, so as not to have too much waste.
